Dear CradleCath special prayers for you and Martha as you have both been tremendous to Frank.He is a very lucky brother to have you and Martha is astonishing to be such a wonderful ‘ex’ wife! God bless you all.

Lord we thankyou for all the progress Frank is making and we are truly grateful to You for answering our prayers.We pray for all the wonderful staff who have been dedicating themselves to Franks care and I ask You to bless each one of them. Lord we continue to pray for Franks complete recovery and that the proposed reversal surgery planned for 11th is safe and successful for Frank.Lord CradleCath has been a tremendously loyal faithful and loving sister to Frank and Martha too has been so loyal to him please bless them and grant them continued strength to deal with the emotional turmoil they each face.Lord please grant extra strength to dear Martha.She has suffered enormoue problems and turmoil this past year and I ask You to bless her.Lord thankyou for all Your blessings Amen

Thank you all,
We had a little set-back this week & the surgery was postponed. However, it’s still “gonna happen”!! There were 2 openings in Frank’s colon…the one they made with the surgery & the original fistula where the infection broke through the colonic wall. I think it was two weeks ago when they did a scope & found the fistula had healed itself. Well, it’s broken open again & they have to graft skin over it. In other words, they’ll “patch it like a tire” one surgeon said. I know that this has to be done, but am concerned about why it opened again. After they patch that & that heals, the reversal of the colostomy can be performed.

Frank’s spirits seem to be good, even now, but I think a little of that is a show he puts on for Martha & I. We are all so “into” being cheerful for each other. I thank God for my good husband & children, because this last set-back broke my heart. My husband let’s me cry when it gets really bad & just holds my hand until I’m through & at this point I think my children are praying for me, as much as they’re praying for Frank & Martha. Martha never remarried after she divorced Frank, so she has no husband to hold her hand.

I’m going to stay home tomorrow & will go back to the hospital on Mon. if they’ll let me. Frank may be back at KU., while they’re running more tests. It so, I’ll have to wait until Tues. to actually spend any time with him. I’ll let you all know the news then. You, Teresa & you, my friend from Kenya are in my prayers every day, as well as Sidhe & the rest of my CAF. prayer partners.

Dear Heavenly Father, you know that I’m close to tears as I’m writing this. Please give me the faith & the strength to be positive for Frank & to be a good example to my children…I want to them to learn from me a how to handle the illness of a loved one.

I think often of you, Blessed Pope John Paul II, & your** long **battle with Parkinson’s disease, how sick you were & how tired you must have gotten. Be with Frank right now. As usual, I turn to you St… Jude:

special patron in time of need;

It was really a wonder to me that someone in my parish donated a statue of you, St. Jude, & a small prayer bench with votive candles just about a month ago. However, as you know I light a candle there every week to keep my brother’s needs right in front of you. I believe that you are praying with me for him & I know how closely God listens to you. I am scared now, St. Jude…help me with my lack of faith.
 
CradleCath thankyou so much for updating us about Frank’s surgery. I had been wondering how things had gone.I can only imagine the emotional rollercoaster you have been on and continue to do so.You are a tremendous example to us of true love and faith and commitment.How apt with Valentine’s day coming soon that we can see a real example of love from you dear friend.You and Martha are both very special people indeed.Frank is blessed to have you as his dear sister and Martha (even though divorced) as his loyal faithful wife.
I am so pleased you have the wonderful support of your husband and children.I admire you greatly and thankyou for all you do for Frank.You are definitely a saint in the making!
