Good morning everyone. Yesterday, I went in for a first trimester screening and the results showed that my baby may have one of the Trisomy disorders. Trisomy 21 is downsyndrome, but trisomy 18 and 13 are usually not compatible with life and babies tend to die early in infancy. I am in my 14th week of pregnancy, and this is my 3rd baby. The other 2 are happy, healthy kids. Please keep my family in your prayers. We will know more information in about a week after we get blood test results back. No matter what the outcome is, I will carry the baby to term, but right now I am emotional and feel very caught off guard and unprepared.

Our Father, Who art in Heaven, hallowed be Thy name;
Thy Kingdom come, Thy will be done on earth as it is in Heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread;
and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us;
and lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from evil. Amen.

…and…

Hail Mary,
Full of Grace,
The Lord is with thee.
Blessed art thou among women,
and blessed is the fruit
of thy womb, Jesus.
Holy Mary,
Mother of God,
pray for us sinners now,
and at the hour of death.
Amen.

O beautiful flower of Carmel,
Most fruit of the Vine, splendor of Heaven.
Holy and singular
Who brought forth the Son of God,
Still ever remaining a pure virgin
Assist me in this necessity
O Star of the Sea,
Help and protect me!
Show me that Thou art my Mother.
O Mary, conceived without sin,
pray for us who have recourse to Thee!
O, Mary, conceived without sin,
pray for us who have recourse to Thee.
Sweet Mother, I place this cause in your hands.
Amen.

Please remember that screenings are not diagnostic! A lot of positives are false.

Oh dear, that’s quite close to home. 😦

Praying for you all.

Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee. Blessed art thou amongst women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus.

Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death. Amen.

Saint Gianna, pray for us.
Saint Colette, pray for us.

My prayers are with you!!! Hopefully I can offer some encouragement as I was in this same situation last October. I was told our baby was positive for Trisomy 18 at around 18 weeks. To make a very long story short, I am scheduled to be induced next Tuesday with a seemingly healthy baby boy!!! After numerous ultrasounds and bloodwork (we declined amnio as there is now a free cell fetal DNA test which can count fetal chromosomes) and many stressful weeks, we have been told that there is a 1 in 10000 chance that he has a chromosomal defect and my last ultrasound showed him to be 8 lbs 15 oz!! I still have anxiety that there might be something wrong (his abdomen was measuring a little large?!), but I am trying to trust in our Lord!

At this point in my pregnancy, my ob has done some extra ultrasounds just to be sure he is growing well. She said that a positive screening test can sometimes indicate problems with the placenta and not the baby, but so far there is no indication of that.

During that stressful time, I actually grew to feel blessed that God would have entrusted us with such a special soul and was at peace with whatever the outcome. I pray that you may be at peace with your outcome as well!! God Bless!!

Your story made my day. God bless you. Thank you.

**:hug1:

Blessed Mother, please intercede for us.
Hold the sorrowful, strengthen the fearful,
mother and love the weary, abused, neglected
or forgotten among us,
give your aid to all needing help or healing,
assist those who are sick, in pain or suffering,
be with those needing peace,
console the lonely or brokenhearted,
comfort the lost or hopeless,
guard the unborn,
pray for those who are dying or who have died,
soften those with hardened hearts,
enlighten those who do not yet see truth,
help us be brave enough to let our hurt and anger go,
show us the way to do the right thing,
protect those who are in danger,
and guide us from every evil.
May all who keep your sacred commemoration
experience the might of your assistance.
Amen :gopray: **

Congratulations on your pregnancy! No matter what the outcome, you will always be a mother to a wonderful third child. However, I’ll be praying for a healthy, happy baby for you and your family, and the inner peace to follow God’s will.

**For a Mother with Child **

O almighty and everlasting God, through the Holy Spirit, You prepared the body and soul of the glorious Virgin Mary to be a worthy dwelling place of Your Divine Son. Through the name of the Holy Spirit, You sanctified St. John the Baptist, while still in his mother’s womb. Hear the prayers of your humble servant who implores You, through the intercession of St. Gerard, to protect me from the dangers of childbearing and to watch over the child with which You blessed me. May this child be cleansed by the saving water of baptism and, after a Christian life on earth, may we, both mother and child, attain everlasting bliss in heaven. Amen.

For you and your baby:
:gopray:

Remember oh most gracious Virgin Mary, that never was it known that anyone who fled to thy protection, implored thy help, or sought thy intercession was left unaided. Inspired by this confidence, I fly unto thee, oh Virgin of Virgins, my Mother. To thee I come, before thee I stand, sinful and sorrowful. O Mother of the Word Incarnate, despise not my petitions, but in thy mercy hear and answer me. Amen.

My cousin got the same news when she was pregnant with her first child, but she ended up giving birth to a happy and healthy baby. Like another user said, it’s not diagnostic and many are false. I hope that gives you some comfort. You’re in my prayers!

Eternal God , in whom mercy is endless,
and the treasury of compassion inexhastible ,
look kindly upon us and increase Your mercy in us ,
that in difficult moments we might not despair
nor become despondent , but with great confidence ,
submit ourselves to Your Holy Will ,
which is love and mercy itself . Amen

Memorare (Prayer to Our Lady)
