My wife and I went to Pittsburgh on Wednesday to see a specialist for the baby.
It turns out our son, Joshua, has a benign tumor in his left chest which is growing. It is pushing all his organs to the right and down and preventing the lungs from developing. The medical name for it is “Congenital Cystic Adenomatoid Malformation”. They are unable to remove the tumor without putting his and my Wife lives at MORE risk.
We go back in three weeks. To see if the tumor has grown, stayed the same size, or shrunk. If the tumor stays the same or shrinks the possibility for survival, if he makes it to at least 34-37 weeks is 75-80%, we are at week
24 now.
However, if it continues to grow the survival rate goes down to 10%.
We will go at least one time per week to the doctors to make sure the heart is still beating. On April 16th we go back down to Pittsburgh to see if the tumor has stopped growing. If it stops or gets smaller, then we talk to some pediatric specialists to see what happens next.
If the tumor does not stop growing. There is a great possibility it would endanger both my Son and my Wife lives.
Please, please keep them in your prayers. We are praying for a complete disappearance of the tumor. I know the only person to LOVE my Son more my wife and I is God and we pray for the peace and grace to let Gods’ will be done.
Currently she is doing a Novena to Saint Anne and we are both praying for the intercession of Saint Gerard. Any and All prayers are appreciated and felt.
Thank you & God Bless,
Lew
