Dear Friend:

Please join us in prayers for peace in Israel:

Our Father in Heaven, Rock and Redeemer of the people of Israel; Bless the State of Israel with its promise of redemption. Shield it with Your love; spread over it the shelter of Your peace. Guide its leaders and advisers with Your light and Your truth. Help them with Your good counsel. Strengthen the hands of those who defend our Holy Land. Deliver them; crown their efforts with triumph. Bless the land with peace, and its inhabitants with lasting joy. And let us say: Amen.

Prayers ascending for the nation, and for the safety of Chaim, Orly and their loved ones in Tel Aviv.

What a beautiful prayer. When I saw the news yesterday I realized how important it is at this time to pray for the peace of Jerusalem, as the Bible instructs us and I often forget. I hope many others join in prayer at this important time.

Yes, so beautiful, I couldn’t have found better words so all I said was AMEN.

I am constantly praying to G0d for peace, you can say constantly like all day long. I spend Friday night at mass for prayer, and today spent the morning at the synagogue with the Jewish community where we prayed. Imagine all people would stream to the communities in order to pray with them for peace in Isreal, that would be … very powerful I believe.

I will include the intention for peace in the Holy Land in my Rosary tonight. I have been neglecting thinking and praying specifically about it, but I have zero excuse!

Our Lady, Queen of the Most Holy Rosary, You who walked in this sacred city, please pray for all concerned. I trust in Your prayers - thank You! Amen.

Are prayers for peace effective?

I ask with all due respect, as I recall a Pope John Paul led an entire world wide prayer for peace a number of years ago.

From appearances, the prayer went unanswered.

That is why I ask. I am genuinely interested to know if people who pray for peace, actually expect God to answer and peace to suddenly break out.

The L-rd G-d of Israel is not a vending machine, where you insert prayer and He dispenses precisely what you request at the exact moment you request it. He sees all eternity and knows what is best at the right time.

In any event, does anyone know what will occur if we do not ask?

So God can’t do anything or intervene when humans make decisions? I don’t believe that. What I believe is we really don’t know if any prayers for peace go unanswered or if they are indeed answered. We don’t know how bad things could get if not for God’s intervention. Maybe human beings have existed this long because of that intervention. As far as I know, no one expects permanent and complete peace anywhere on this earth. You will have to go to heaven to experience that. Regardless, the Bible tells us are to pray for the peace of Israel.

Israelis are not the only people dying in this war-- a war, mind you, where there is only one army involved.

Still, I am praying for peace in the Middle East, and that **no one **- Jewish, Muslim or Christian (people seem to forget that there are Christians in the Middle East) – Israeli or Palestinian – loses their lives.

Our Father, Who art in heaven,
Hallowed be Thy Name.
Thy Kingdom come.
Thy Will be done, on earth as it is in Heaven. Give us this day our daily bread.
And forgive us our trespasses,
as we forgive those who trespass against us.
And lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from evil. Amen.

**Dearest Lord,
teach me to be generous;
teach me to serve You as You deserve;
to give and not to count the cost,
to fight and not to heed the wounds,
to toil and not to seek for rest,
to labour and not to ask for reward
save that of knowing I am doing Your Will.

Amen.**

**Spirit of wisdom and understanding,
enlighten our minds to perceive the mysteries
of the universe in relation to eternity.

Spirit of right judgment and courage,
guide us and make us firm in our baptismal decision
to follow Jesus’ way of love.

Spirit of knowledge and reverence,
help us to see the lasting value of justice
and mercy in our everyday dealings with one another.

May we respect life
as we work to solve problems of family and nation,
economy and ecology.

Spirit of God,
spark our faith,
hope and love into new action each day.

Fill our lives with wonder and awe
in your presence which penetrates all creation.

Amen. **
