St. Vincent, patron of all charitable associations and father of those who are in misery, come to our assistance. Obtain from Our Lord help for the poor, relief for the infirm, consolation for the afflicted, protection for the abandoned, a spirit of generosity for the rich, grace of conversion for sinners, zeal for priests, peace for the Church, tranquility and order for all nations, and salvation for them all. May we be united in the life to come, by your intercession, and experience joy, gladness, and everlasting happiness. Amen.

Devotion to Saint Francis of Assisi

O beloved Saint Francis, gentle and poor, your obedience to God and your simple, deep love for all God’s creatures led you to the heights of heavenly perfection and turned many hearts to follow God’s will. Now, in our day, pray also for us, in our ministry to the many who come here searching for peace and intercede for us as we come before the Lord with our special requests.

I beg of you to pray and intercede for the poorest of the poor, that God may bless them, give them strength, and reward them with life eternal hereafter.

O blessed Saint of God, from your throne among the hosts of heaven present our petitions before our faithful Lord. May your prayers on our behalf be heard and may God grant us the grace to lead good and faithful lives. Amen.

Saint Francis of Assisi,
Pray for us. Amen.

Prayer for the Poor
Who is Jesus to me? Jesus is the Word made Flesh. Jesus is the Bread of Life. Jesus is the Victim offered for our sins on the Cross. Jesus is the Sacrifice at Holy Mass for the sins of the world and mine. Jesus is the Word - to be spoken. Jesus is the Truth - to be told. Jesus is the Way - to be walked. Jesus is the Light - to be lit. Jesus is the Life - to be loved. Jesus is the Joy - to be shared. Jesus is the Sacrifice - to be given. Jesus is the Bread of Life - to be eaten. Jesus is the Hungry - to be fed. Jesus is the Thirsty - to be satiated. Jesus is the Naked - to be clothed. Jesus is the Homeless - to be taken in. Jesus is the Sick - to be healed. Jesus is the Lonely - to be loved. Jesus is the Unwanted - to be wanted. Jesus is the Leper - to wash his wounds. Jesus is the Beggar - to give him a smile. Jesus is the Drunkard - to listen to him. Jesus is the Little One - to embrace him. Jesus is the Dumb - to speak to him. Jesus is the Crippled - to walk with him. Jesus is the Drug Addict - to befriend him. Jesus is the Prostitute - to remove from danger and befriend her. Jesus is the Prisoner - to be visited. Jesus is the Old - to be served.
To me Jesus is my God, Jesus is my Spouse, Jesus is my Life, Jesus is my only Love, Jesus is my All in All, Jesus is my Everything.
Amen.

Our Father who art in Heaven, hallowed be thy name.

Thy kingdom come, thy will be done on Earth as it is in Heaven.

Give us this day our daily bread.

And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us.

And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.

Amen.

Prayer for the Children we Serve

Dear Lord,

We come to you today to offer up the children that we serve. We place them in your hands Father and we ask you to care for them. Please comfort them and provide the healing that they need to help them recover from the traumas that these innocent young children have had to endure: for those who have suffered from hunger, thirst, and the pains of malnutrition, for those who have had to live without adequate housing, lack of clothing, and no shoes, for those who have had to suffer through the experiences of abuse, neglect, abandonment or the death of one or both parents.

Please ensure that their basic needs are met so they are able to continue to develop physically, mentally, and emotionally. Show them your mercy and invite them into your arms. Provide for them a parental relationship where they can talk to you and trust in you. Fill them with your love and grant them peace and security. Give them hope for a bright future and bless them with the opportunities of education and guidance to lead them towards that future.

We ask you Lord to please care for these and all the children of the world. Bless them and those who have the responsibilities of caring for them. Protect their vulnerable and innocent lives and allow for them to experience the joy and carefree happiness of childhood.

We place their lives in your hands Lord, in the name of your son Jesus Christ.

Amen.

Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee.
Blessed are you among women, and blessed is the fruit of your womb Jesus.
Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death.
Amen.

Blessed are the poor in spirit: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
Blessed are the meek: for they shall possess the land.
Blessed are they who mourn: for they shall be comforted.
Blessed are they that hunger and thirst after justice: for they shall have their fill.
Blessed are the merciful: for they shall obtain mercy.
Blessed are the clean of heart: for they shall see God.
Blessed are the peacemakers: for they shall be called the children of God.
Blessed are they that suffer persecution for justice’ sake, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
Amen.

Prayer to Confront Global Poverty

Holy Trinity, Father, Son and Spirit, you are the origin of all gifts. Make us grateful stewards of your many blessings.
Father, Creator of Abundance,
Grant us generosity in sharing our gifts and resources with our brothers and sisters around the world.
Jesus, Prince of Peace,
Make us advocates of the peace that strengthens justice and the justice that sustains peace.
Spirit of Justice,
May the love and equality you share with the Father and the Son inspire us to support just policies that lift up poor persons.
Father, Maker of the World,
Make us responsible stewards of the earth’s riches and respectful of local peoples from whose lands resources are extracted .
Jesus, Lord who Lightens Burdens,
May we look with mercy on nations burdened by poverty and commit ourselves to their relief.
Holy Spirit, Author of Life,
Inspire us to protect the gift of creation, and to assist those in poverty, who suffer the most from environmental harm.
Blessed Trinity, Communion of Love,
Help us to love our global neighbors and those displaced from their homes by reducing poverty in other countries.
Father, through your Son and by the power of the Holy Spirit,
Help us to recognize your face in all those affected by global poverty and fill us with the love and fortitude we need to confront its causes.
Father, we ask this through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. Amen.
