Dear Brothers and Sisters,

Please – no matter what your country of birth, or your particular opinions on candidates may be – please may I ask you to pray for the United States on this election day. Let us pray as our Lord taught us to pray:
Our Father, Who art in heaven
Hallowed be Thy Name,
Thy kingdom come
Thy Will be done on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day, our daily bread,
And forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who Trespass agains us.
And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. Amen
Let us pray with as much attention and devotion as we can, truly meaning the words we pray.

Mary, Mother of Mercy, pray with us and for us.
Jesus, We trust in You!
Come, Holy Spirit, fill the hearts of Your faithful. Kindle in us the fire of Your Love.

Been prayin’! Went to Mass on our nation’s behalf one last time before the rest of my fellow Americans cast their votes. The reading was about serving and not being entitled to recognition. The sermon was about performing the tasks God puts before us and moving on to the next one without expecting a pat on the back. The psalm and hymn were Psalm 23. Knocked out a rosary afterwards on behalf of our nation, and no one even asked me to vacate before I was done! Got the feeling everyone there had already voted or was on their way, so we’ve done what we can do.

God Bless America! God save her people and have mercy on them.

Immaculate Heart of Mary pray for us
Sacred Heart of Jesus have mercy on us

Hail Mary,
Full of grace,
The Lord is with Thee
Blessed art Thou amongst women,
and blessed is the fruit of Thy womb,
Jesus
Holy Mary,
Mother of God,
Pray for us sinners,
Now and at the hour of death,
Amen

Gracious Father, we humbly beseech thee this day on behalf of all thy servants in America and ask that thou wouldst send the guidance and wisdom of the Holy Ghost to all who are running for office and to all who are voting that those elected may above all things know and do thy holy will, who livest and reignest with the Son and the Holy Ghost, one God for ever and ever Amen.

The Mass I attended this morning was also for the intention of the election incidentally. A lot of prayers coming from this side of the Atlantic.

Mary is the Universal Mediatrix Of All Graces.

Holy Mary, rescue our nation.

If we would be convinced of the immeasurable quantity and quality of graces that Our Lady has, we would have more confidence, more joy, and more hope in our spiritual lives. Such persuasion should come from the super-plenitude of graces that Our Lady has. She is the necessary door that leads us to Jesus Christ.

PRAYER OF OUR LADY QUEEN OF ANGELS

August Queen of Heaven, sovereign Mistress of the Angels, who didst receive from the beginning the mission and the power to crush the Serpent’s head, we beseech thee to send thy holy Angels, that under thy command and by thy power, they may pursue the evil spirits, encounter them on every side, resist their bold attacks, and drive them hence into the abyss of woe.

Most holy Mother, send thy Angels to defend us and to drive the cruel enemy from us. Amen.
All ye holy Angels and Archangels help and defend us.

Saint Michael, the archangel, defend us in battle, be our defense against the wickedness and snares of the devil, may God rebuke him, we humbly pray. And do you, O’ Prince of the Heavenly host, by the power of God thrust into Hell Satan and all the other evil spirits who prowl about the world for the ruin of souls.

Amen.

Praying. . . . Also prayer of apology and thanksgiving because we may forget to say “thank You” to Our Lord for all the blessings He pours on us and we do not even realize it. The thread could also be closed before we know it and I want to get the “thank You” in. 😉 🙂

Act of Hope and Confidence in God*** St. Claude de la Colombiere
:signofcross:
My God,
I believe most firmly that You watch over all who hope in You,
and that we can want for nothing when we rely upon You in all things.
Therefore I am resolved for the future…to cast all my cares upon You.
People may deprive me of worldly goods and status.
Sickness may take from me my strength and the means of serving You.
I may even jeopardize our relationship by sin, but my trust shall never leave me.
I will preserve it to the last moment of my life, and the powers of hell shall seek
…… in vain to grab it from me.
Let others seek happiness in their wealth and in their talents.
Let them trust in the purity of their lives,
the severity of their mortifications,
in the number of their good works,
the enthusiasm of their prayers,
as for me, my Rock and my Refuge, my confidence in you fills me with hope.
For You, my Divine Protector, alone have settled me in hope.
“This confidence can never be vain. No one, who has hoped in God, has
…… ever been confounded.”
I am assured, therefore, of my eternal happiness,
…… for I firmly hope in it and all my hope is in You.
“In You, O loving God, have I hoped: let me never be confounded.”
I know too well that I am weak and changeable. I know the power of
…… temptation against the strongest virtue.
I have seen stars fall and foundations of my world crack;
…… these things do not alarm me.
While I hope in You, I am sheltered from all misfortune,
…… and I am sure that my trust shall endure,
…… for I rely upon You to sustain this unfailing hope.
Finally, I know that my confidence cannot exceed Your generosity, and that I
…… shall never receive less than I have hoped for from You.
Therefore I hope that You will sustain me against my evil inclinations,
…… that You will protect me against the deceitful attacks of the evil one,
…… and that You will cause my weakness to triumph over every hostile force.
I hope that You will never cease to love me and that I shall love You unceasingly.
“In You, O loving God, have I hoped: let me never be confounded.”

St Claude de la Colombiere, pray for us!

Apology and Thanksgiving Prayer
Heavenly Father,
Creator of all and source of all goodness and love,
please look kindly upon us,
as we ask for forgiveness for not giving You thanks.
Please receive our heartfelt apology for the lack of gratitude.
Remind us at all times that You are always worthy of our thanks.

Thank You, Heavenly Father,
for all the graces and blessings
You have bestowed upon us:
our faith and religious heritage;
the Priests who bring us the Sacraments;
our life, food and shelter;
our health, the love we have for one another;
our family and friends.
Thank You for those things You so generously give us
…… and of which we are not even aware.
Dear Father, in Your infinite generosity, please grant us the grace of having
…… less “give me” and more gratitude throughout the coming
…… years so that we may be aware that anything from You is good
…… for You turn the “bad” into blessings for us.
Please Lord, grant us the grace of not forgetting that we can thank You
…… over and over again for the same gift – and if we
…… forget, may our Guardian Angel remind us.
Thank You, Lord.
I Love You, Lord.
Amen… …by Luz María

:signofcross:

Let Nothing Disturb You
Let nothing disturb you,
Let nothing frighten you,
All things are passing away:
God never changes.

Patience,
Obtains all things,
Whoever has God
Lacks nothing:
God alone suffices.

Prayer composed by Archbishop John Carroll of Baltimore (1735-1815)
Prayer for Government
We pray, Thee O Almighty and Eternal God! Who through Jesus Christ hast revealed Thy glory to all nations, to preserve the works of Thy mercy, that Thy Church, being spread through the whole world, may continue with unchanging faith in the confession of Thy Name.
We pray Thee, who alone art good and holy, to endow with heavenly knowledge, sincere zeal, and sanctity of life, our chief bishop, Pope N., the Vicar of Our Lord Jesus Christ, in the government of his Church; our own bishop, N., all other bishops, prelates, and pastors of the Church; and especially those who are appointed to exercise amongst us the functions of the holy ministry, and conduct Thy people into the ways of salvation.
We pray Thee O God of might, wisdom, and justice! Through whom authority is rightly administered, laws are enacted, and judgment decreed, assist with Thy Holy Spirit of counsel and fortitude the President of these United States, that his administration may be conducted in righteousness, and be eminently useful to Thy people over whom he presides; by encouraging due respect for virtue and religion; by a faithful execution of the laws in justice and mercy; and by restraining vice and immorality. Let the light of Thy divine wisdom direct the deliberations of Congress, and shine forth in all the proceedings and laws framed for our rule and government, so that they may tend to the preservation of peace, the promotion of national happiness, the increase of industry, sobriety, and useful knowledge; and may perpetuate to us the blessing of equal liberty.
We pray for his excellency, the governor of this state, for the members of the assembly, for all judges, magistrates, and other officers who are appointed to guard our political welfare, that they may be enabled, by Thy powerful protection, to discharge the duties of their respective stations with honesty and ability.
We recommend likewise, to Thy unbounded mercy, all our brethren and fellow citizens throughout the United States, that they may be blessed in the knowledge and sanctified in the observance of Thy most holy law; that they may be preserved in union, and in that peace which the world cannot give; and after enjoying the blessings of this life, be admitted to those which are eternal.
Finally, we pray to Thee, O Lord of mercy, to remember the souls of Thy servants departed who are gone before us with the sign of faith and repose in the sleep of peace; the souls of our parents, relatives, and friends; of those who, when living, were members of this congregation, and particularly of such as are lately deceased; of all benefactors who, by their donations or legacies to this Church, witnessed their zeal for the decency of divine worship and proved their claim to our grateful and charitable remembrance. To these, O Lord, and to all that rest in Christ, grant, we beseech Thee, a place of refreshment, light, and everlasting peace, through the same Jesus Christ, Our Lord and Savior. Amen.
