O Holy Child Jesus, who shed Your blessings on whoever invokes Your name, look kindly on us who kneel humbly before Your holy Image, and hear our prayers. We commend to Your mercy the many poor and needy people who trust in Your Divine Heart. Lay Your all powerful hand upon them and help them in their needs. Lay Your hand upon the sick, to cure them and sanctify their suffering; upon those in distress, to console them; upon sinners, to draw them into the light of your divine grace; upon all those who, stricken with grief and suffering, turn trustingly to You for loving help. Lay Your hand also upon all of us and give us Your blessing. O little King, grant the treasures of Your divine mercy to all the world, and keep us now and always in the grace of Your love! Amen.

Lord, we lift this child and her parents up to You, beseeching Your mercy upon them. May Your healing graces continue to descend from Heaven upon this precious child. Out of Your immeasurable love, grant the doctors the skills necessary to correctly diagnose and treat the affliction. Graciously hear our prayers on behalf of this family and their baby, bringing healing and peace to each of them. We ask this through our Lord Jesus Christ, Your Son, Who lives and reigns with You and the Holy Spirit, One God for ever and ever. Amen!

It doesn’t look as though the baby is going to make it. :crying:

This totally blows my mind. Another scan revealed such damage to her brain stem from the infection, and her entire left brain and some of her right is damaged, and if she miraculously survived she would not be able to see, hear, would be on machines her whole life. She can’t breathe on her own now. It looks as though it is going to come down to my poor 18-yr-old sister having to choose to let her go instead of keeping her barely alive on machines.

We need a miracle. 😦

I forgot to add… the baby had not yet been baptized. My sister doesn’t practice any religion but has talked a lot about wanting to come to the Catholic Church as I converted before marrying my husband. Yesterday in the hospital she had the baby baptized Catholic and my husband and I are godparents for the first time. :crying:

It is so good to hear the baby has been baptized! I’m sure you and husband are the best Godparents. Your Godchild remains in my prayers.

Hail Mary,
Full of Grace,
The Lord is with thee.
Blessed art thou among women,
and blessed is the fruit
of thy womb, Jesus.
Holy Mary,
Mother of God,
pray for us sinners now,
and at the hour of death.
Amen.

Praying from today’s Liturgy of the Hours:

Psalm 130 (131)
Childlike trust in God

Unless you become like little children you will not enter the kingdom of heaven.

Lord, I do not puff myself up or stare about,
or walk among the great or seek wonders beyond me.
Truly calm and quiet I have made my spirit:
quiet as a weaned child in its mother’s arms –
like an infant is my soul.
Let Israel hope in the Lord, now and for all time.

Glory be to the Father and to the Son and to the Holy Spirit,
as it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be,
world without end.
Amen.

Saying 9 hour Novena to the Immaculate Heart of Mary for your precious niece.

Father in Heaven, we come before You in prayer through Your Son Jesus Christ, on behalf of this family in crisis. May Your healing graces be upon this child, bringing her to a state of restored health. Grant that her family persists in faith and seeks their strength from You. Graciously hear the prayers of the faithful on their behalf. Lord, have mercy. Christ, have mercy. Lord, have mercy. Amen!

Hail Mary,

Blessed art thou among women,
and blessed is the Fruit Of Thy Womb,
Jesus.
Holy Mary,
Mother of God,

My baby niece began having seizures suddenly and had to have emergency brain surgery. They found an infectious collection on her brain. Right now they are studying the infection and have no idea what it is. It’s a one in a million chance of this. Her blood counts are also low, and she keeps having to have transfusions, she is having kidney failure, and has stopped breathing very much on her own. Everything is up in the air and there are no answers. They don’t know how she will do, if the infection will come back, and if there was brain damage, and they won’t know that until she wakes up, breathing on her own, etc. It is just a minute-by-minute waiting game. I’ve been praying novenas to St. Peregrine and St. Jude. She’s in great hands but please, please pray for her and her mother!
God bless you and your family, you are in my prayers.

Thank you Jesus!!!
Continued prayers for this precious little one.
…and take care of yourself as your own little one will soon be here.

Thank you for your prayers. The baby passed away last night. There were so many friends and family who came to say goodbye as her mommy held her for the last time. It only took a short time, with her little heart beating very quietly, till it stopped and she went peacefully with her mom and dad in the room. Before she passed she got her Last Rites, they did plaster of paris molds of her hands, and pretty little handprints and footprints on canvas as memoirs.

Please pray for her mother now… she is young and devastated… she doesn’t know how she will get through this. She is staying with us for a short time now while arrangements are made. Please, pray for me and my husband as we try to be comfort and solace to her in a grief we could never understand unless we had been through the same.

*Eternal rest grant unto her, O Lord a**nd let perpetual light shine upon her. **May her soul and the souls of all the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace. *Amen

Her soul is now with God. He must have wanted her with Him very much. Continued prayers and thoughts with you all.
