I used to come here a lot and try to match saints with issues for prayer; I would post both common and obscure prayers. Now, it’s not so much that I don’t have the time, but I just don’t have…the words to express prayers for any topic. I know I’ll be “right” again with the help of the Church and your prayers, but I still feel the need to ask for your forgiveness and prayers until this “dry spell” passes over.

Thank you!

Mis

I think I understand where you are coming from. Because there are so many prayer requests, I usually pray the same prayers for all the prayer requests, but I try to read and lift up the persons intentions. Hope you are doing ok.

For your prayer request:

Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy name.
Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us, and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.
Amen.

Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee. Blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus.
Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death.
Amen.

God Bless You

Dear Mis do any of the following thought touch on your reluctant difficulties?Maybe though you’re just so tired, and in need of nurture.
Faith under siege

God, we humans feel need for practical alleviation in times of grief, difficulty and anxiety. When I am embroiled in grief, clasp me to Your heart.

When I am sad or unwell, when troubles beset my family or friends, when I make mistakes, and when the pain or sin of the world assails me, please lift my spirit with God’s love, and with the kindness of those whom God sends.

If in my sorrow I doubt Your mercy, please accept my heartache and tears as prayer for others. Forgive me if I feel anger or dismay, in my frustrated yearning for real help for loved ones in their genuine needs, difficulty and pain!

Please allow no one to suffer for my doubt, but give me faith to become a better vehicle of intercession and blessing for others. Give me remembrance always that I need not plead desperately for Your mercy but will open my heart to the flood of mercy that awaits my welcome. October 1999

Saint Padre Pio wrote, “Pray, hope and do not worry. Worry is useless. God is merciful and will hear your prayer.” Jesus told Saint Gertrude, “Confidence [trust] alone easily obtains all things.”
“It gives me great pleasure when persons hope great things from Me, and I will grant them more than they expect.” Inspire me to ask all You could hope and dream for in me, for mine and others’ souls and lives.

O Silent God
God, we pray to You for others and ourselves, and sometimes it seems, if only for a time, a time of awful pain and loneliness, that no one is listening, that You are not there.

Many have turned away, disappointed and bitter, that You have not answered their urgent prayer, their painful need for self and for others.

There is no satisfactory human answer to their challenge, whatever one might say of Your ways, Your time, because their anguish or their anger is the reality they experience.

Dear God, You need no reminder, but my humanness leads me to remind You that we are human in our minds and hearts and bodies. We have little or no actual sense or knowledge of ourselves as spirit.

If You do not touch us as human beings living in a physical world that we acutely experience, then who can blame anyone for losing faith and hope in You. I cannot blame those who do…but I pray for them with all my heart and life.

O silent God let us hear Your voice in the words of others, and let us be Your love spoken to them. Yet may I ask that You also speak directly to their hearts and minds with unmistakeable Love.

Please be mindful of our needs, and nurture us as we pray and seek Your healing and care. Embrace all who have lost their hope in God and prayer.

Trishie… these are things I’ve gone through so wrote about in prayer.

Thank you for all those whom you have prayed for. We each appreciate the many prayers.

Now, we return the favor and we pray for you. A special prayer going up right now.

Maybe it’s just a time for God to grow quietly in you, just a desert time for God and you. But you don’t owe anyone apology for anything. If God wants you for Himself for a while or always now, that doesn’t require apologising to anyone. I know everyone will be happy to remember you in prayer.

You gave so much, maybe you give in another way now, simply your heart in prayer between you and God for everyone.

Forgiveness? Not needed. Prayers? Certainly!

Merciful Lord, we lift Mis up to you, asking that You restore her spirit of intercession. We ask that You send Your Holy Spirit upon her, that she will be overflowing with Heavenly Graces, and no longer will suffer in the spiritual desert. At the same time Lord, assure her that she is not lost in the desert, but rather crossing it. Our Lord and Savior Jesus not only accompanies her, but guides her to the oasis on the far side. May our prayers help to sustain her through the calling down of mercy upon her, until such time as her gift is realized in its fulness. We ask this through the same Christ Jesus, Your Son, Who lives and reigns with You and the Holy Spirit, One God for ever and ever. Amen! Alleluia!

I promise to be quiet and stop being a nuisance after this.

In failure
Jesus, I put my trust in the apparent failure of the Cross, for You are condemned to a criminal’s execution and it seems that Your mission has failed, You who alone could redeem humanity.

Who can accept that it is God-incarnate whose sweat and blood drips into the dust, from Your drained, dishonoured body! Yet Your human cry of abandonment by the Father is belied by the triumph of love and faith in Your final confident submission. You die, but You have not betrayed the Father’s trust.

**Jesus, to my sadness, I fail in many ways and sin against others by my failures. Have I betrayed Your will or mistaken Your purpose? Will You restore me to grace now, Jesus? To do what? Will You show me? Will You fuse together the broken pieces—of my life, of my service—to make a new and better creation? Am I to step around the fragments and to pass another way? **

I ask to walk with certainty along the path of holiness that You choose uniquely for me. If not, then please allow me the certainty of buoyant faith. I ask courage to continue through the enveloping fog, trusting each small moment to the illumination of faith and grace.

Jesus out of my failure and sorrow You will bring healing and goodness luminescent as priceless pearls grown around grains of suffering, for Your glory, and for others’ remedy and blessing.

If you feel too lazy to pick up a bit of thread, and yet do so for love of Jesus, you acquire more merit than for a much nobler action done in a moment of fervour. Instead of grieving, be glad that, by allowing you to feel your own weakness, our Lord is furnishing you with an opportunity of saving a greater number of souls.” (Saint Therese of Lisieux)
I feel like a nuisance. As I’ve written over 100,000 words in my journal, just think how much I’m actually sparing you!

You were there for many…now it is time for the many to be there for you.

I will pray that God enlighten you with this Grace.

I have not posted in a while, and I am encouraged by the message left me when I signed in recently, so here goes: sometimes, and prayer of the heart cannot be expressed in words-so while one may feel a dry spell, the prayer of the heart may go on unceasingly in the spirit.
I know what works for me-from the Orthodox tradition, Russian hesychasts: (which by the way, is known to Westerners as the JESUS PRAYER) Lord Jesus Christ Son of God, Have Mercy on Me a Sinner. It could be the Rosary for someone else, or a prayer you make up yourself.
I attended a Charismatic conference at Fordham U. some time ago where a Jesuit enouraged us to pray with our own words, and not to be intimidated by “professional prayers”.
“The Spirit intercedes for us with groanings beyond words” (St. Paul, and depending on which translation you use). 👍

You don’t have anything to be forgiven for. You are a wonderful person with prayers from your heart…for me, my own prayers I feel are often childlike…just from my heart…God is with you and we all need your prayers…God Bless you always.

Mother Teresa of Calcuta suffered much, during her time of spiritual dryness, maybe reading her book, on that experience will do you good. An “Our Father” and a Hail Mary, are complete prayers you can use during this time. Don’t worry if you do not feel anything while you are praying, spiritual growth has nothing to do with “feeling” or “emotions”. It is about your souls’ silent desire to be close to the Creator, and allow the Creator to work in you. Even when you are distracted with twenty things, your soul is calling out to the Lord. So be charitable and merciful towards yourself, for you are a child of the Lord.

Praying for your intentions…

Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee. Blessed art thou amongst women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners now and at the hour of our death. Amen.
