Pam,

I will continue to pray for your husband. I too want to see him dedicate his life back to God.

Hear, Lord, the prayers we offer from contrite hearts.
Have pity on Pam’s husband and lead him back to the way of holiness. Protect him now and always from the wounds of sin. May he ever keep safe in all its fullness the gift Your love once gave him and Your mercy now restores. Amen. :gopray2:

I never nag him, I ask him everytime I go if he would like to go with me. The answer is always no, and I never question him. I have talked to him about his need to make confession. He wants to go downtown to the Cathedral so that he can go in the “old” confessional box. So, I have encouraged that.
Pam- Stop asking him if he wants to go. When you’re going, just tell him that’s where and you’ll see him later. He knows you want him to go, and I believe he will come around and go on his own. After all, he has to decide it on his own anway.

Heavenly Father, please show Pam’s husband the way home to You. Guide him with the warmth of Your heavenly light so that he will want to be closer to You everyday. I ask this in the name of Your son Jesus. Amen. :signofcross:

**I encourage you to say a chaplet to God’s Mercy!
Let’s pray - especially at 3 p.m.(the Hour of Jesus’s Death)!
Special gift of Grace!
Trust in God’s Mercy. Jesus will help you and your husband!
Jesus will be your consolation!

CHAPLET TO GOD’S MERCY**

Using normal rosary beads,begin with:

The Lord’s Prayer : Our Father, Who art in heaven, hallowed
be Thy name…… Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee…….
the Apostles Creed :I believe in God, the Father Almighty, Creator of heaven …

On the five large beads :

Eternal Father, I offer You the Body and Blood,Soul and
Divinity of Your dearly beloved Son,Our Lord Jesus Christ,
in atonement for our sins and those of the whole world.

On the ten small beads :
V. For the sake of His sorrowful Passion,
R. Have mercy on us and on the whole world.

At the end of the Divine Mercy Chaplet say three times:

Holy God, Holy Mighty One Holy God, Holy Mighty One, Holy
Immortal One, have mercy on us and on the whole world.

Invocation: O Blood and Water that gushed forth from
the Heart of Jesus as a fountain of mercy for us,
I trust in You (3 times)

Sign of the Cross :in the name of the Father,
and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit.
Amen.

God Bless You all!

George

Firstly, congratulations on your Easter Baptism this year and how wonderful that you have brought others with you into instruction and Baptism.
It must be very painful for you indeed that your husband is to date resisting, although he is showing very hopeful signs. Will be keeping you both in prayer that The Holy Spirit will enter into the situation with you both and be your guide and strength…Will ask St. Monica to pray for your hubby too - she is a very powerful advocate for conversions and returns to the Faith…

Praying very hard for the retroversion of your husband. Persevere in prayer, as I will and I’m sure the Holy Spirit, through divine intercession and your good example will work to wear away his resistance.

Praying for your husband. It took more than 40 years of my mother’s prayers to get my father to go back to the Church. Never give up.

Another Saint! Praise God in Heaven. 👍 Saint Monica only had to pray for 15-20 years or so…
We men are such a stubborn bunch.

Thank you all so much for your continued prayers.
God Bless you all! I’ve seen so many prayers answered
after they have been posted on CAF. I have faith that mine will be one of those answered prayers one day soon.

Pam, let’s pray it doesn’t take 40 years! But, even if it does, let’s keep it going. For this we pray to the Lord. R: Lord, hear our prayer.

Christ’s peace.

This is an old thread that I am resurrecting.
My husband has attended mass every Sunday since February 10!

I have had my Grandchildren since then and he sort of uses them as an excuse for needing to go and help me out with the kids. I’m so proud to be sitting there with my husband every Sunday.

Please pray for him to finally go to confession. It has been about 30 years.

Thanks be to God! May his heart hear our Lord calling him to reconciliation!

How wonderful! :extrahappy:

Come Holy Spirit! Fill the hearts of Thy faithful and kindle in them the Fire of Your Love. Send forth Your Spirt and they shall be created, and You shall renew the face of the earth.

Eternal Father, I offer you the Body and Blood, Soul and Divinity of your Dearly Beloved Son, our Lord Jesus Christ for atonement of sins and the conversion of sinners!

Dear Lord God! Please saturate this man with your Holy Spirit and draw him unto You, in Christ Jesus Name.

Glory be to the Father and to the Son and to the Holy Spirit! As it was in the beginning is now and ever shall be, world without end!
AMEN

Pam:

I will be keeping your husband in prayer and in my rosaries! Keep up whatever you’re doing, because it sures sounds like he’s come a long way!! Happy for you!🙂

Thank you all so much for your gracious prayers!

I believe in this prayer forum!

God is so wonderful!

Lord, You have seen Pam’s family bear up through the test of fire in what they have endured. Rather than drive him away, You graciously provided Pam’s husband with a reason and excuse to attend the greatest celebration in the history of man. Out of pure Love and Mercy, send Your Holy Spirit upon him, creating that gnawing desire in his soul which will lead him home to full communion. May he swallow his pride without choking and confess that which You have patiently waited to forgive. And, once the seed of Your Son’s Precious Body is planted in fertile soil, once he is refreshed in the peace which Your Son gave us, may he desire it as the Source of his sustenance. We ask this through the same Christ, our Risen Lord, Who lives and reigns with You and the Holy Spirit, One God for ever and ever. Amen! Alleluia!
