This is the most stress I’ve ever undergone at one time. I feel like I’m near my breaking point.

My grandfather has been in ICU for weeks (I can’t remember how many at this point). He never really woke up from a surgery. He had a good day about 10 days ago, meaning he moved a little and has done nothing since. His body is slowly shutting down. It’s for the best but hard to see him suffer. I was able to spend a week by his side. Now I am 500 miles away and feel helpless. I want to be by his side to comfort him, even if he doesn’t know I’m there. I have family responsibilites that hold me here. Once the kids are out of school things will be different.

Our house is on the market but we can’t get people in to look at it. We’ve had two showings since November. To add to the stress our move is a little sooner, 3 weeks. It is on the rental market now, something I never wanted to do. The rental process brings on a whole other set of stress. I need to be getting ready for the move but don’t want the house in disarray just in case someone shows up. I keep the house immaculate so that it is showing ready 24/7.

By the grace of God spots opened up in the Catholic school in the town we are moving to for all of our kids. Tuition will be an issue if we can’t sell/rent this house. We sacrifice a lot to send them to Catholic school but our resources only go so far.

My stress is mounting. I feel selfish for even praying that someone buys our house. Several of my husband’s work acquantances have sold their homes quickly. We can’t figure out what we are doing wrong. The realtors have no negative things to say about our home or its pricing. I’m not sleeping well and I have a short fuse. I know God has a plan. I’m just not seeing a the light at the end of the tunnel right now.

GeorgiraPeach:

I’m praying for you and your family.

Prayerfully,
Renato

You are going through a lot, no doubt. But, with God all things are possible. I will be praying for you daily. Our Father…Hail Mary…Glory Be

Give it all to God. Put it at the foot of the Cross.

Prayer for you !
Our father who art in heaven hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread and forgive our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us. Lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil. For the kingdom the power and the glory are yours now and forever
AMEN

God strengthen you…

Realize how blessed you are and how much the Lord has blesses you with. This will help scare some stress away. You are only human and you have the right to feel the way you do. But to help cope and turn back from that breaking point, think about all the people in Myanmar living under such hopeless conditions. They are exposed to all the elements, hunger and possible illnesses…now look at all your blessings, your opportunities, your hopes etc. This is not a guilt trip, it is so you compare and see how blessed you are, how the Lord cares for you and yours. Here in the US people have been loosing their homes or whole neighborhoods to bad weather or fires…now see how blessed you are. At night, count your blessings, forget about “self” and bring to prayer all those in such desperate situations, you will sleep like a baby. You are sooo blessed and by the grace of our Lord, you will be fine 🙂 .

“Eternal Father, I offer Thee the Wounds of our Lord Jesus Christ to heal those of our souls.”
“My Jesus, pardon and mercy, by the merits of Thy Holy Wounds.”

GeorgiaPeach,

Praying for you and your family. Special prayers for your grandfather (I had the same situation years ago). I also pray that your home sells quickly so that you all can move on.

I will remember your intentions when I pray the Holy Rosary and keep your Grandfather in mind when praying the Chaplet of Divine Mercy. Try to do as Galilea said, there is only so much you can expect of yourself. You can’t be everything to everyone, take care of yourself and just do the best you can and pray in all things.
Maybe daily you could call the hospital and someone could hold the phone up to your Grandpa’s ear and you can tell him that you love him and that you’re all praying for him. I believe he’ll know.

Poor girl, it sounds like everything is stressing you right now.
You are trying and hoping so much to get things resolved, and you are dealing with the emotional stresses of your grandfather’s illness and moving house, unable so far to sell it. That’s at least two things on the emotional high-stress meter. Felling helpless about those things…A big hug.

I praise and thank God for the good things, that you have a school and church available and that as you didn’t mention otherwise, apart from your grandpa everyone else is healthy!
I ask God to encourage the right people to come buy you house. (I’ve been there myself where you wait every day for the right nibble or any nibble. It’s hard, especially when there are other pressures). Please God, let her grandfather feel her presence and love even though she isn’t physically present. May she feel his love for her. Help her to feel and express gratitude and praise for everything that is blessing in her life, and to find calm where there is distress. And please dampen her ‘short fuse’, embrace her with Your love.

I’ll remember you at Mass today. Bless you, Trishie

“The Lord is close to the broken-hearted; those whose spirit is crushed He will save. Many are the trials of the just person but from them all, the Lord will rescue him.” [Psalm 33:2, 6]
“There is no need to worry; but if there is anything you need, pray for it, asking God for it with prayer and thanksgiving, and that peace of God, which is so much greater than we can understand, will guard your hearts and your thoughts, in Christ Jesus.” [Philippians 4:6-7] “Everything will soon come to an end, so, to pray better, keep a calm and sober mind.” [1Peter 4:7]
:hug1:

Praying for your grandfather and for you, Georgia Peach!

From today’s Liturgy of the Hours:

Psalm 68 (69)

I am weak and I suffer,
but your help, O God, will sustain me.
I will praise the name of God in song
and proclaim his greatness with praises.
This will please the Lord more than oxen,
than cattle with their horns and hooves.

Let the humble see and rejoice.
Seek the Lord, and your heart shall live,
for the Lord has heard the needy
and has not despised his captive people.
Let heaven and earth praise him,
the seas and all that swims in them.
For the Lord will make Sion safe
and build up the cities of Judah:
there they will live, the land will be theirs.
The seed of his servants will inherit the land,
and those who love his name will dwell there.

Glory be to the Father and to the Son and to the Holy Spirit,
as it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be,
world without end.
Amen.

Praying for you and your family…

Our Father, Who art in heaven,
Hallowed be Thy Name.
Thy Kingdom come.
Thy Will be done, on earth as it is in Heaven. Give us this day our daily bread.
And forgive us our trespasses,
as we forgive those who trespass against us.
And lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from evil. Amen.

How are you? I pray you will begin to feel less stressed. God help you through the dilemmas you outlined.
Were you able to kind of send your spirit to your grandfather? Our spirits are a little like the internet that brings us together from all over the world! Would not his spirit know your presence and your deep love for him?
Still praying that the house will sell soon. If not, please God, may the renters be honourable.
Do you find time to give yourself a bit of self nurture to revive you, maybe just “sitting with” Jesus with a cup of coffee. God grant you find some way/s to help your peace. Take care of yourself as you take care of the family, (probably not leaving much time for you, especially when you’re keeping the house spotless which is chalenging when one has children),

Bless you, Trishie

Thanks for the continued prayers!

Trishie - My husband and oldest son went out to get me a Starbucks skinny-latte this morning before Mass – just what the doctor ordered!

I’m feeling much more at peace now about the house. Things have always worked out for us and this time will be no different, I’m sure of that. We’ve come to terms that the house probably isn’t going to sell. We are going to focus on getting good renters. This week I am going to start getting ready for the movers. If someone comes to look at the house they will have to excuse a few boxes.

I am still very emotional about my grandfather. I have always been very close to him and it feels as if I’ve lost a father. I’ve come to terms that he isn’t going to get well but I can’t get over the way his life is ending. I’m just so sad for him. Once he passes he will be so much happier. I pray he isn’t aware of what is happening.

You’re a treasure! I’m so glad you are feeling a little less overwhelmed and more hopeful. I smiled about the latte. It was lovely of your husband and son to do that for you.
Thank You Lord for the love you put in their hearts. May they continue to cherish their GeorgiaPeach. 🙂

May God find you the best of renters so that you can have peace of mind regarding your house and reliable income from the rent. Angels, please watch over these arrangements and help send away anyone inappropriate. Please lead the right person/people to become the renter/s. Thank you.:angel1:

But your grandfather…Jesus and Mother Mary please be present to and ease GeorgiaPeach’s heart in distress and loss. Please let her grandfather’s passing be gentle and peaceful, but please, is it possible for her to see him before that, please God?
Thank You God for blessing her and her grandfather with such a precious relationship, and when he goes home to You, will you allow him to obtain numerous blessings of love and peace and even joy, as well as special gifts for the welfare of his granddaughter and her family. Thank you God, we do love You.

Trishie
