Praying very hard.
Me too.

Trouble is though, now that its nearly Christmas a bunch of them in recent days have been much worse at throwing insults.

I decided some time ago it was better not to respond, but a few of the Christian minority are doing, which is a mistake judging by the result, because the atheists just seem to be getting increasingly aggressive at present.
It upsets me to see such nasty hostile comments. I’m really going to have to try to avoid viewing those threads in the future.

**Blessed are you,
Mother of my Lord,
For you have believed the Word of God.

In faith and love,
You have pondered the Words and actions of God
In your life and the life of God’s people.

With Jesus we call you mother.
Pray for us,
And ask your Son to lead us to the Father.

Amen.**

Our Father who art in Heaven,
Hallowed be thy name.
Thy kingdom come, thy will be done
on Earth as it is in Heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread.
And forgive us our trespasses,
as we forgive those who trespass against us.
And lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from evil.
Amen. :signofcross:

Hail Mary, full of grace,
the Lord is with thee.
Blessed are you among women,
and blessed is the fruit of your womb Jesus.
Holy Mary, Mother of God,
pray for us sinners,
now and at the hour of our death.
Amen. :signofcross:

Following this I’m sorry to say, they’ve got much worse, nastier and more vicious and yet I’ve been praying for them lately more then ever.

Its really worrying me now because I can see the influence they’re having. A bunch of them have been ganging up on two Christians today, two of a different faith who are not equipped enough with enough knowledge of the bible as the atheists are. The thread has had thousands viewing it.

I’m not well informed or articulate enough to challenge these people when they refer to parts of the bible quoting acts of genocide and slavery and in their own eyes “Gods vengeance” they appear to be relishing their own perceived triumph.

I know I probably shouldn’t have done but I felt compelled to intervene by defending God and those two other Christians, but not effectively enough it would seem, and unfortunately much to my shame, rather angrily too…

We can’t underestimate the power of these people can we? its all very sad really, because i’m sure its a contributory factor as to why so many young people are losing their faith.

Perhaps I should stay off the forum completely, but its one of the largest and most popular in the UK and because its based in my city, has lots of useful information.

Praying for atheists posting on my local General discussions forum.
That they will cease from making insulting nasty comments to anyone who chooses to express a love for God and their Christian religious beliefs.

Glory Be to the Father and to the Son and to the Holy Spirit as it was in the beginning is now and ever shall be world without end AMEN.

Most Holy Trinity, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, I adore Thee profoundly; and I offer Thee the Most Precious, Body, Blood, Soul, and Divinity of Jesus Christ, present in all the Tabernacles of the world: in reparation for the outrages, sacrileges, and indifferences by which He is offended; and, by the infinite merits of His Most Sacred Heart, and through the Immaculate Heart of Mary, I beg the conversion of poor sinners. Amen.

Saint Michael, the archangel, defend us in battle,
be our defense against the wickedness and snares
of the devil, may God rebuke him, we humbly pray.
And do you, O’ Prince of the Heavenly host, by the
power of God thrust into Hell Satan and all the other
evil spirits who prowl about the world for the ruin of souls.

St. Thérèse of Liseux Prayer From “Story of A Soul”

May today there be peace within.
May you trust God that you are exactly where you are meant to be.
May you not forget the infinite possibilities that are born of faith.
May you use those gifts that you have received,
and pass on the love that has been given to you.
May you be content knowing you are a child of God.
Let this presence settle into your bones,
and allow your soul the freedom to sing, dance, praise, and love.
It is there for each and every one of us.

Amen. †

Lord, thank you that you are with me right now.
Your love surpasses all fear.
I give you the anxiety I feel.
I surrender all my worries to you.
Clear my mind;
Calm my heart;
Still my Spirit;
Relax my being, that, I may
always glorify you in everything
I write, speak and do.

Amen. †

Jesus, Help Me

In every need let me come to Thee with humble trust, saying,
Jesus, help me!

In all my doubts, perplexities, and temptations,
Jesus, help me!

In hours of loneliness, weariness and trials,
Jesus, help me!

In the failure of my plans and hopes; in disappointments, troubles and sorrows,
Jesus, help me!

When my heart is cast down by failure, at seeing no good come from my efforts,
Jesus, help me!

When others fail me, and Thy grace alone can assist me,
Jesus, help me!

When I throw myself on Thy tender love as Father and Savior,
Jesus, help me!

When I feel impatient, and my cross irritates me,
Jesus, help me!

When sickness and loneliness overcome me,
Jesus, help me!

Always, in weakness, falls and shortcomings of every kind,
Jesus, help me and never forsake me.

Thank You, dear Lord Jesus.

Amen. †

Continuing to pray for them.

Sin the terrorist attacks in Tunisia some of the atheists who post the internet appear to be in their element blaming and attacking all religions for being the cause of all the wrongs in the world. Its very distressing to read some of their generalised comments blaming any one who has a religious faith.

What a pity I didn’t check and edit that post on time.
Must have been distracted by something I was watching on TV at that moment 😊

Hi all ~ I just had a run in with some very anti-religion atheists who attempted to belittle me and mock my faith, as well as any other faiths. At one point, a man even said it’s a fact that to be religious is to have a mental disorder.

This makes me very angry because it’s impossible to get through to these people. I’ve come to the idea that WE CANNOT GET THROUGH TO PEOPLE LIKE THIS. Rather, God has to.

I’m just asking for everyone to pray for atheists - whether they’re people in your life or just in general.

Thank you.
Praying with you…

  • O most beautiful Flower of Mount Carmel, Fruitful Vine, Splendor of Heaven, who brought forth the Son of God still remaining a Virgin, assist us in this necessity. O Star of the Sea, help us, and show us that you are our Mother.
O Holy Mary, Mother of God, Queen of Heaven and earth, we humbly ask you from the depths of our heart to help us in this necessity. There are none who can withstand your power. O show us that you are our Mother.
O Mary, conceived without sin, pray for us who have recourse to thee. Sweet Mother, we place this cause in your hands. Amen*

Spirit of the living God fall afresh on us,
Melt us, mould us, fill us, use us
Spirit of the loving God fall afresh on us.

Spirit of the living God fall afresh on them.
Melt them, mould them, fill them; use them.
Spirit of the living God fall afresh on them.

May the Sacred Heart Of Jesus be praised adored and glorified, now and forever more throughout the world Amen.
