Interestingly enough, the term, ‘meritorius’ is Latin. Meritorius in Latin means to ‘earn money.’ However, as we use the term in English, it’s more likely derived from the Latin term, ‘meritum.’ See more info here:Meritous of what? Sorry, but all these claims about Latin as a language sounds more befitting a cult than a true religion.
