Have you ever heard of the TAN book Under Angel Wings? Its about a young girl who later became a nun, but when she was a child she saw her Angel. She describes how he taught her modesty. He would correct her when she would put on stockings but not position herself that modestly. He lifted her off a horse when she was on it like a boy and he hid her view of people on the beach and a movie. Some people might say this is just a private revelation but even though its private, not public revelation, its not against Catholic teaching.
I read a comment by Peter Kreeft that in our current condition, the human body is more dignified with clothes. Adam and Eve it seems had some sort of light or glory about them that we don’t in our fallen state. There’s concupiscence but it seems something else changed too.
St Padre Pio could read souls and he counselled a woman in Confession to dress more modestly in her home in hot weather - she didn’t say that to him, he read her soul. So it seems like God and the Angels want us to be clothed out of respect for our body as well - also to help chastity.
There’s obviously nothing wrong with not having clothes when people have to - like taking a shower. But I don’t believe we should do this intentionally. If someone is without clothes due to necessity and they need to pray, for example they are about to get an operation and are nervous, or to fight a temptation, or just a habitual remembrance of God… Thats different… And we should always remember God and stay with Him in our hearts. But when there’s a choice to say our prayers, i believe its more reverent to be dressed, if possible.
It doesn’t sound like your intent is at all irreverent so I hope what I’m saying isn’t too harsh. The intent to be vulnerable before God is good but there are other ways to do this too… Like thinking of our nothingness and misery and submitting to God’s Will… Just some thoughts…
