Praying TO dead relatives?

I can understand your situation, but large numbers have loved ones that are not Catholic, so it makes this issue very relevant. Praying to dead loved ones is an issue that could certainly use further understanding.

I think the larger question is whether we should be praying to some soul in heaven just because they were related to us in someway in this life. Whatever that relationship was in this life it does not exist in heaven.
