Joshua 3: 7

Then the LORD said to Joshua, "Today I will begin to exalt you in the sight of all Israel, that they may know I am with you, as I was with Moses.

**Saints point the way to Jesus; they do not take away from His glory. **

The crux of the issue is here. There is something wrong with going to the saints. It diminishes God, Jesus and the Holy Spirit. It shifts your focus.

Scripture shows us different. Saints cannot diminish what the Lord wants to exalt.

Edwin, I hope this will help you. We don’t ever “go to the saints” without using the one mediator, Jesus Christ. It is God, the Father, whom answers all prayer through the intercession of His Son, Jesus.

Here is how we use the saints.
  • Saints are part of the living body of Christ; saints aren’t dead since they died with Christ.
  • Saints are righteous people and we know the prayer of the righteous one is heard.
  • Scripture tells us that where two or more are gathered in His name that their prayers will be heard.
We ask the saints to take our prayers to Jesus, the one mediator, so He can give them to God the Father. This is what “praying to” means to a Catholic. We have a righteous person (saint) take our prayer to Jesus, making our prayer request coming from two or more members of the Body of Christ.

We never side step Jesus, the Holy Spirit or the Father. We take the saints, whom God chose to exalt, on a ride with us to our God. No interference; just companionship.

I hope this helps.

God :blessyou:

Hey kewl, I hadn’t thought about that before. It shows that God wants us to love and pray for each other. Excellent post!

God bless,
