Pre-recorded homily from the Bishop

Lazerlike 42 we had recording of the Bishop here in northern VA until it was deemed not liturgically correct and contradicted Rome as I recall. Thus the practice was abrogated.

His prerecorded messages went away about three years ago.
 
This same question was recently asked on Fr. Z’s blog, and the answer seems to be a decided “NO:”
That misrepresents Fr. Z’s post on the matter. It’s not clear whether Fr. Z believes pre-recorded homilies are licit, or if he is refraining from cheekiness because his ordinary does this very thing. What is clear is that he avoids an excellent opportunity to condemn the practice, or expound on De Musica Sacra.

I would argue that the widespread and active, not passive, defiance of De Musica Sacra by the very ordinaries entrusted to interpret and apply liturgical law is evidence that the document no longer carries the force of law.
