No, the left behind style idea of a pre-trib rapture is condemed by the Church, specifically because its biblically untennable. The focal point, if you will, of pre-trib theology is this passage in 1 Thess 4I’m Catholic and find that the church beliefs in a pre-tribulation rapture interesting. Where is this substantiated in the Bible? I can find probably 8 to 10 instances in the NT that the rapture occurs at the last trumpet or on the last day. My point is that those of us that are alive at the time of the abomination desolation are going through the tribulation. Those that are lukewarm christians will have their faith tested at that point. We’ll have to run the race like Paul did. The second coming of Jesus is not going to happen until after the tribulation ends and before God spills out the vials on those left behind that received the mark of the beast.

15 For the Lord himself shall come down from heaven with commandment, and with the voice of an archangel, and with the trumpet of God: and the dead who are in Christ, shall rise first.
The problem is that the bible is quite clear, the dead in Christ will rise on the last day. Typically it’s at this point that pre-trib believers like to try and pull out the Apocolypse of John, CH 20:16 Then we who are alive, who are left, shall be taken up together with them in the clouds to meet Christ, into the air, and so shall we be always with the Lord. 17 Wherefore, comfort ye one another with these words.

4 And I saw seats; and they sat upon them; and judgment was given unto them; and the souls of them that were beheaded for the testimony of Jesus, and for the word of God, and who had not adored the beast nor his image, nor received his character on their foreheads, or in their hands; and they lived and reigned with Christ a thousand years. 5 The rest of the dead lived not, till the thousand years were finished. This is the first resurrection.
However Bishop Chanoller gives us this understanding:6 Blessed and holy is he that hath part in the first resurrection. In these the second death hath no power; but they shall be priests of God and of Christ; and shall reign with him a thousand years.
Even if one were to stubbornly try to stick to a literallist interpetation of scripture, one would have to contened with Mattew 27:2 “Bound him”… The power of Satan has been very much limited by the passion of Christ: for a thousand years; that is, for the whole time of the New Testament; but especially from the time of the destruction of Babylon or pagan Rome, till the new efforts of Gog and Magog against the church, towards the end of the world. During which time the souls of the martyrs and saints live and reign with Christ in heaven, in the first resurrection, which is that of the soul to the life of glory; as the second resurrection will be that of the body, at the day of the general judgment.
And if one looks to the scripture from which the “Left Behind” series get’s it’s name:51 And behold the veil of the temple was rent in two from the top even to the bottom, and the earth quaked, and the rocks were rent. 52 And the graves were opened: and many bodies of the saints that had slept arose, 53 And coming out of the tombs after his resurrection, came into the holy city, and appeared to many.
37 And as in the days of Noe, so shall also the coming of the Son of man be. 38 For as in the days before the flood, they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, even till that day in which Noe entered into the ark, 39 And they knew not till the flood came, and took them all away; so also shall the coming of the Son of man be. 40 Then two shall be in the field: one shall be taken, and one shall be left.
Consider this, Noe (Noah) and his family were saved by being left behind, here on earth. While the wicked were taken up, in the flood and washed from the face of the earth.41 Two women shall be grinding at the mill: one shall be taken, and one shall be left. 42 Watch ye therefore, because ye know not what hour your Lord will come. 43 But know this ye, that if the goodman of the house knew at what hour the thief would come, he would certainly watch, and would not suffer his house to be broken open. 44 Wherefore be you also ready, because at what hour you know not the Son of man will come. 45 Who, thinkest thou, is a faithful and wise servant, whom his lord hath appointed over his family, to give them meat in season.
I hope this helps.
