I think he DOES have definite plans, but doesn’t/can’t/won’t fully articulate them during the debates. Maybe it’s because he is too focused on attacking Obama’s positions, maybe it’s because he realizes they aren’t the most popular (defunding Planned Parenthood is still a political hot potato), maybe he’s trying to pull a pseudo-2008-Obama and appeal to everyone, etc.

If he spent the time he took saying “I know how to do x y and z” actually explaining what he would do, I would be much less bitter about this campaign than I presently am.

It takes longer to explain how to fix the economy then that.

It is very difficult to take a real plan for economic growth and turn it into a soundbite.

If the choice is between someone who may not have a plan and a man whose plan is to bring America down to where the world wants us… I’m for the one without a plan

I don’t think Obama’s plan is to bring America down. Do you really believe that?
And voting for the wild card in most scenarios would be considered foolish let alone for the POTUS!

I think the heart of the issue is both parties need to put their big boy/girl pants on and WORK TOGETHER to get this country back to where it should be, regardless of who wins.

He has refused to take a stand on the issue, he’s backpedaled from it every time. Ryan took a far stronger stance, and his stance wasn’t even that strong.

My problem with his debate performance is that he hasn’t stood on principle throughout the debate. The one principle that he has consistently hit every question is “the past four years have been terrible.” He has said nothing specific on a positive note, even when challenged that the math doesn’t add up. All he’s done is assure us that he knows what to do, without caring to explain what exactly that is. All because he’s been letting his clock run down bashing his opponent’s record.

When the prevailing argument is “War on Women™…they want to make contraception illegal…aaarrrggghhh!!!”, not limiting to access to contraception is a stand, and a much more principled one than “free” contraception for all, IMHO.

And that’s the sad thing…I think he genuinely knows what needs to be done and how to do it but why hasn’t he done anything?

You’re absolutely right. But if you expect someone to vote for you, you do NOT answer an accusation that the math doesn’t add up with. “Well of course the math adds up.”

Not at all reassuring. No mention of specific cuts. No mention of which loopholes to close. Nothing. Just five seconds taken to say “I would cut x, y, and z” would be better than the vibe of “TRUST ME I know what I’m doing.”

That’s what he and Ryan have been running on. And I find it nauseating.

I do actually believe that.
I agree the parties need to come together… and get out of the way… I think there is little hope for our country when we let those in DC tell us what’s best for us

What I find even more nauseating is hearing the President say “My plan is to…”

He’s HAD the opportunity to implement his plans, including a filibuster-proof majority in both houses of Congress for his past two years.

What is the difference between his “plans” as President, and the policies he’s had in place for the past 4 years?

A lot of people only pay attention to sound-bites … so many don’t seem to want details, they just tune them out … they tune in to “catch-words” (e.g., “hope”, “change”, etc) … and tune out in-depth, specific information.

I don’t like saying this, but we seem to be moving more and more in that direction.

Link? I’m a two year graduate of a community college, been with the same company for nearly 20 years and have had my current job for 15 1/2 years, as a male with seniority, i’d be ticked to discover that a female in my dept. with a law degree doing the same job as me is making more than me.

You can type pay inequality into Google, and it will autofill and bring you hundreds of thousands of results. I’m not sure what you’re trying to articulate with your community college comment. The issue is that in many workplaces women make less money for doing the same job as men. I don’t know anything about your job, and I therefore don’t know anything about the relevance or lack thereof of a law degree. I started med school a few months ago, and one of the first things they told us was that statistically the male students start at a higher salary for doing the same job. And believe me, we’re all working hard as hell at this school, not just the male students. Thankfully, the school administration and the male students also view this inequality as a big problem.
