Government regulation is crippling this economy. Small businesses choke under red tape.
We’ve got the Clean Air, Clean Water Act, Superfund and mountain of other things.
We need to dump the AHA, Sarbannes-Oxley, Dodd-Frank and a bunch of other entitlements including PBS subsidies
Small businesses also choke under the thumb of big government enhanced businesses. Do you think a family run business will have an easy time out competing Wall Mart?

I want clean air and clean water, don’t you? You want to let industry or your neighbor to pollute the earth in order to make more profit?

PBS entire government subsidy is like one hour supporting the “war on terror”. It’s insignificant compared to our bloated defense budget and social security, Medicare and Medicaid outlays.

Does PP funding go towards paying for the mammograms? If it does (which I believe it does but I am not 100% sure) then I would guess that is what he means by saying PP provides mammograms, ie ACCESS to mammograms.
Obama said in glamour magazine
Precisely because in many of these states Planned Parenthood is your only possible access to not only abortion but Pap smears, cervical cancer screenings, mammograms. It is a place where women who may not otherwise have the means can take care of their own bodies
PP refer to somewhere other than PP. PP may fund a mammogram with money from Komen. Many studies have shown a correlation between breast cancer and abortion, but Komen also donates to community health centers, so women can get low cost or free mammograms. PP does not need to exist for women to get mamograms and go directly to a community health center; women do not need a middle man like Planned Parenthood

CNN poll- 58-40% Romney better on the economy, 49-46% on healthcare, 51- 44% on taxes, & 59-36% on deficit

Big. MT@kesgardner: CNN: did Obama offer clear plan for solving the nation’s problems? 38% said yes. But 61% said no. Who won this debate?

If you want me to list the number of times this summer alone Romney, Ryan, or his supporters have been labeled “racist”, I’m your Huckleberry. 😉
I don’t think Romney is racist at least I don’t recall him saying anything questionable but I don’t think he’s overly concerned about the poor, which tends to be minority populations. I guess some people take that a step further and say he doesn’t care about minorities. I wouldn’t go that far, but I do think he cares about wealth and the wealthy period. I do think Republicans have preyed upon this irrational “Rise of the Colored Empire” fear that SOME (not all) people have. I’ve seen this race-baiting throughout campaigning. I think it’s too simplistic to say all Republicans are racist however I have strong concerns about their interest in the socially disenfranchised.

You’re smart too, scipio.

To answer your question, it’s clear these debates are geared for the undecided, independent voters, at least that is how it’s supposed to be. If what I hear about Biden having had to cheer up the dem base is true, this administration may be in more trouble than I thought.

As a rule, (and I’ll paraphrase Rush here), liberals can never tell you what their real plan is, or they’d never win a presidential election. That’s why Obama is campaigning to the right of where he really is.

Romney, on the other hand, has a bunch of consultants in the beltway who in some cases probably believe the New York Times or folks like Neal Boortz who say to tread lightly with women and gays or they and the independents will flee, as though independent voters like myself (although I vote exclusively GOP now to save the country) are looking for any flaw to run into the arms of those “caring”, fuzzy democrats.

So basically, a republican candidate has to be anything but conservative in their view, as El Rushbo would say.

–Of course in Boortz’s case, he speaks about slavery from the hip and has said some controversial things about people with disabilities.
You should serve as one of Romney’s advisors. 😃

I think abortion is a topic that would keep moderates away from President Obama, esp with the HHS mandate working hand and glove with his pro abort position.

The government doesn’t create jobs according to Mitt. Funny, I have two jobs that are directly related to government subsidies or employment. I guess I’m the 47% who are leeching on society. The government in my case supports our family. But I guess jobs only come from Mormon CEO Wall Street bankers. Funny how the Marshall Plan and the military are all government programs.
If it weren’t for non-government people and companies paying taxes, there would be no government subsidization of your two jobs.

Hello, Obamacare. How can he claim we need PP for mammogram referrals when we are all supposed to have health care now. Oh yeah, because mammogram referrals are the straw man argument of abortion supporters, PPs real purpose.

I totally get your point about PP being a middle man for mammograms. I was just trying to clarify if PP provides access which it looks like they do. Thanks for the clarification.

These police need to get real jobs and stop pretending to be a private police force for the oligarchs.

Using the same logic, Wall Street doesn’t create wealth either. It just skims off money.

Wrong!

Wall-street firms that get bailed out by democrats while folks like #occupy and other liberals are busy with their backs turned shaking their fist at the republicans “skim off” money.

Otherwise it’s buyer beware on stocks and your own personal, private decision to invest.
]It’s not the government’s job to “create wealth” but to create and protect a system which allows families to provide for themselves.

PP supporters talk of the limited reproductive servies PP provides, they hardly ever mention that is the US’s largest abortion provider. Limited health servies other than abortion that are provided by PP or reffered to by PP are provided at over 8000 community health center sites which offer low cost or free health care to men, women and children

Tell me about it…Obama is so concerned that the poor will be lonely he’s created a great many more. Whereas that evil Romney wants to create less poor people. What are those handful of poor people supposed to do when there aren’t many left? They’ll be so lonely. 😦 😛

Which is odd, because historically, it was Republicans who ended slavery, and passed equal rights, while Democrats were the party of Bull Connor, Wallace and Jim Crow. Some of the biggest segregationalists (like William Fullbright and Al Gore Sr) are still revered in the Democratic party.

And I suppose you haven’t seen the extreme rancor thrown at black conservatives? I think Democrats have a beam in their eye.

Condoleeza Rice has had racist cartoon depicting her as Aunt Jemima, a fat-lipped Bush parrot. When Michael Steele ran for senator from Maryland, he was depicted in blackface and with huge red lips.

I won’t even go on to mention things recently tweeted about Stacey Dash, or what has been said about Clarence Thomas, or any number of black conservatives.

In the meantime, we get to listen to Chris Matthews and company talk about real racism: The Romney campaign using the word “Chicago”, “apartment”, or Romney referencing “my five boys”.

In other words, don’t believe everything you read. The “Republicans are racists who only care about the rich” is a tired, old, false cliche.

This is a complete lie. Three separate studies show that only 98.4982 percent of posters on this forum knew who they were voting for before this debate.

Ladies and gentlemen, my opponent obviously wants what is best for our forums, but is simply not up to the job. Its time to make a bold choice, to get CAF on track again. We don’t have to live this way.

😃

Thank you both so Very Much
I needed that

👍
There is a point when regulation kills economy, rather than protecting & promoting the common good

Somethings gotta go… start somewhere or it will never start.

How does getting arrested affect one’s poll numbers?

Is this a case of any publicity is good publicity? 🤷
