Don’t steal my movie idea, but what if a fringe candidate was able to slip LSD or some other drug into the drinking water of the electoral college? I could see Chevy Chase making a comeback as the accidental president.😃

Perhaps I shouldn’t have been surprised by it, but I was surprised how many times Obama invoked Planned Parenthood as if it was a magic verbal talisman, like saying “the American flag”. He must have thought it would be held it such high esteem that it would sweep all argument before it.

Do Americans really esteem that odious organization that much, or was Obama merely talking to his base with that?

I really was baffled by that.

Which, if it is a close election, may be exactly the same as voting for Obama.
 
I think they should have the microphones shut off when the 2 minutes are up.

I read the article, but I cannot believe many black voters will swing to the GOP. I think they have an investment in Obama’s presidency that will ensure their continued support. I can hardly blame them. Electing the first minority president in U.S. history is a major event for all Americans and certainly for ethnic Americans in particular. Giving Obama another term to capture the success that eluded him from 2008-2012 will perhaps grant him the opportunity to fulfill his historical legacy, or at least that’s how I perceive it from an ethnic minority’s perspective. Again, I can sympathize with this viewpoint to a certain degree, notwithstanding the fact that he has done little to improve things for minority voters in terms of unemployment, education and the like.

I’d say for them, any publicity is good publicity, well short of being pro-fossil fuel outside anyway.

But succes in what? He tried to get government control over who the Lutheran church could consider its ministers. He is trying to force Catholic institutions to pay for birth control and abortifacients. He SEEMS to want Muslim Brotherhood suzerainty over the Middle East. He clearly thinks wealth redistribution is the thing to do. He obviously has no concerns about borrowing immense sums of money to spread around among political supporters.

Do we really want to give him more chances to accomplish those goals for the sake of how ethnic minorities might feel about identifying with him?

That’s too bad, because Barr could have used her celeb to draw vote away from the president.

What baffled me was how the key Romney commitments to defunding said agency and (I think) to defending religious freedom with regard to employees’ contraceptive coverage, were not clearly reaffirmed last night…🤷

Are you accepting said minority ‘identification’ as fact? I’m assuming the poster in question is not the mouthpiece of minorities. This ‘minority’ has very definite reasons for supporting Obama that have absolutely nothing to do with his pigmentation…or are we forgetting that black people do/did not exhibit mass swooning over Herman Cain, Condy Rice or …what’s the name of that Utah legislator who’s supposed to help show something or other about Republican’s embrace of people of color?

I think we can assume that minorities have the same use of their mental faculties that other Americans do…with regard to voting choices, with regard to litanies of subliminal insults and stereotyping, with regard to who the ‘poor’ really are to politicians, and with regard to either candidate’s attitude to & plans for said ‘poor’…

Indeed their brains are so busy cutting through the - shall we say, ‘extraneous stuff’ - that I doubt very many ‘minorities’ have time left to think about identifying with Obama. And yes, that ‘extraneous stuff’ includes the oft repeated suggestion that the only people who could vote for Obama have to be looking at something other than his capability as politician and president. Enough. We get it.
