The mixed results match my personal assessment. Some flash polls are coming out Romney…some Obama. Since the listenership is pretty diverse from station to station, a tie seems like a fair bet.
 
When asked tonight “what is the biggest misconception voters have about you” to the President, he stated that the misconception was that he believes the government creates jobs. He stated unequivocally that the American entrepreneurial spirit does.

This is a classic and not well thought out Mormon doctrine. This is because entrepreneurship is being god-like for Mormons.

The government may or may not create jobs. It can foster the creation of jobs by creating a regulatory framework which protects the free-market from either monopolies of the rich and powerful or from the government itself like in communism.

Certainly incentives can help stimulate the economy. Even the defense industry is almost totally government subsidized. And I am directly employed by the government to regulate industry.
 
And with that I’m done answering redundant questions. I’m starting to wonder if you are being deliberately obtuse.

I don’t believe I’ve asked any questions. I’ve pointed out Romney’s refusal to answer redundant questions on a regular basis.

  1. This is a thread about a debate, not the past year.
  2. I do not believe he has addressed them adequately, and even if he has, his refusal to address them on a nationally televised debate even when DIRECTLY QUESTIONED is mind-boggling.
Your latest question is the easiest. More people working, means more tax payers. Even if you lower the over all tax rate. It’s what happened during Reagan and Clinton’s years.

Without significant cuts to spending and closing of loopholes, the math still doesn’t add up to even CLOSE to $8 trillion, at least not conceivably within a 4-year presidential term. Romney is aware of this fact, which is why he has previously promised to “close loopholes” and make cuts. BUT neither he nor Ryan has responded to DIRECT QUESTIONING regarding which loopholes to close and which things to cut.

This frustrates me. I should hope it would frustrate you too, as it makes the candidate that we are both voting for look like he’s hiding something or has no plan.
And you’ve already been told in the previous thread on the last debate that Romney isn’t proposing increasing spending on defense, he is refusing to allow the defense cut alrady scheduled to go through.

And as I believe I told you in that previous thread (if I didn’t, I apologize), your claim here is dead wrong. The study that raised the $2 trillion figure comes from an analysis conducted by Travis Sharp of the Center for a New American Security, a non-partisan Defense thinktank.

The graph at the top of the above-linked article says it all. It has nothing to do with projected cuts to defense spending under Obama. The comparison goes between the current DoD base budget and projections into FY 2020 and Romney’s DoD funding policy.

Most likely correct…it will take several days to see if any trend develops one way or the other

I don’t need you to be impressed. I’m very happy with my profession and all the years of schooling, etc I put in have paid off. I’m blessed. 👍

The gov’t can create jobs, unfortunately its the taxpayers that make the money to pay for them.

If I was at voting age (ahh! One year off from this election! :p), I’d look at it like this:

Obama has supported a woman’s right to abortion. Obama has supported legalizing gay marriage.

The Catholic Church knows that abortion is a moral evil. The Catholic Church does not support homosexual marriages.

I’m a Catholic. So I side with my mother Church. So I (would) vote for Romney.

In my dad’s words:

“As I think about this week’s Mass readings and the upcoming election I have come to conclusion. Those Roman Catholics who voted for President Obama and are going to do so this year, you are spiritually dishonest. President Obama is pro-abortion, pro gay marriage and pushed the HHS Mandate on the Catholic Church(some Protestants also). So how do you sit in Mass every Sunday and listen to teachings that you personally oppose. Hypocrite comes to mind. The Church doesn’t force you to stay.
