The point is that the Obama camp is hypocritical in their pointing out Romney went over time.
That Crowley should have allowed Romney more time to speak than Obama and interrupted Obama more?

A “fair and balanced” (in the sense of being truly allowing all sides equal time)----yes. Absolutely. But “objectivity” is a myth that the media strives for. Will never happen.

I expect that debates will have a bias. The key is to whether or not the candidates can overcome that bias. My ideal debate would be a panel debate with people of various political views would mod and not just Dems & Reps. Each candidate wearing a shock collar hooked up to the timer would just be an added bonus. 😃 If they can’t get their point across in the time alotted, they haven’t thought it through enough.

Isn’t it ironic? The food stamp program, part of the Department of Agriculture, is pleased to be distributing the greatest amount of food stamps ever.

Meanwhile, the Park Service, part of the Department of the Interior, asks us to “please do not feed the animals” because the animals may grow dependent and not learn to take care of themselves.

Oh Obama is able and willing, Ishii, if only the Republicans are willing to work with him. Reportedly the night of his inauguration some were gathered plotting their opposition to him. And of course Senate minority leader Mitch McConnell made his now infamous statement about their number one goal was to keep Barack Obama a 1 term President. They have attempted to acheive their goal by obstructing every chance they get. And we have seen the last 2 yrs have the Tea Party House certainly had no interest in working with Obama.

I thought Jim Lehrer did a good job. He didn’t insert himself and he let the candidates talk. I don’t want to hear the moderator because the moderator’s not running for office. I could not possibly care less what Candy Crowley has to say on any other day of the year.

The next and final debate will be very much like the first, an open one-on-one. Expect Obama to come out yelling on that one too. It obscures his record with a certain number of people who just want to see the aggression because they think that’s what politics is really about.

I concur, Lehrer did an AWESOME job during the first debate and anyone who thinks Crowley was NOT favorable toward Obama needs to explain that logic to me.

I was watching both CNN and MSNBC post debate coverage so it was on one of those where I saw it reported. I think it was CNN. But it doesn’t really concern me if you have use for what I heard reported or not.

In the first debate, he was collected, but when he’s collected he can’t defend his record because it’s so incredibly lousy. So this time, they decided to come out like great guns and at least that covers up the fact that he has nothing to run on.

Obama was obnoxious. He only has 3 modes: 1) unconscious with his eyes shut, 2) unconscious with his eyes open (what you call “cool”), and 3) in your face yelling nonsense and lying his tail off. That’s it.

PS. He has a “poker tell.” You can always tell when he’s about ready to let a big whopper fly. A look goes over his face and he hesitates and says UH. And then he lets her flicker. Happens almost every time he speaks for more than about 20-30 seconds when he’s under pressure and not on a prepared script (teleprompter). He just makes up this **** as he goes along. :mad:

Meanwhile, I will remind CMatt that Obama had both the House and the Senate and still
did not pass some of his favorite legislation. You see, some of that legislation was not
popular with his own democrats.

He did do some bold Presidential edicts that he had promised Planned Parenthood and
withdrew the Mexico City policy to allow the US to fund their abortions overseas.😦

Candy Crowley should apologise for what she did. As a moderator she is supposed to be neutral, not act as a referee; she defended Obama and she got her facts wrong and had to retract. Romney should of also had as much time to speak as Obama got over 3 minutes more

When the question was asked in the debate about womens pay, Romney should of mentioned that if Obama favours equal pay, and signed in to the law the Lily Ledbetter Act then why do women get paid less than men in the White House? Obama admin pays women an average $11000 less annually than their male counterparts, Nancy Pelosi pays her female staff nearly $27000 less on average compared to men and female senate democrats earn an average of $6500 less than men

By the way the only thing the Lily ledbetter act does is extend statue of limitation in lawsuits to 180 days after last cheque from employer from 180 days from claimed pay inequity. It was not a big reform to solve the issue of pay inequity
 
Though I have already voted for Romney via absentee ballot, it’s too bad that neither Jill Stein nor Gary Johnson have been able to participate in the debates.
