As far as “winning” the debate is concerned, whatever that means, Obama won this one just as surely as Romney won the first. Romney appeared tired with a touch of laryngitis. But I have only one question after watching both debates: who is running as a third-party candidate again?

Nope. Obama won (and I don’t concede that he did) by a whisker, if at all.

He got his clock cleaned in the first.

It might depend on which state you live in.
Some 3rd party noms are only on the ballot in some states.

I’ve been wondering about this for a while now. In the first debate, one of Obama’s few good moments came when he said while questioning whether Romney really had a plan “is he keeping these ideas a secret because they are just too good?”

The natural counter to that would have been to A) call out the President on what his plan would be, as noted in the articles you linked above; and B) for Romney to say, “if your plans for the second term are so great, why didn’t you implement them in the first term when you had filibuster proof majorities in both houses of congress and a mandate from the people coming off of victory?”

Personally, I can’t help but wonder, what are these great plans and why have you been waiting on them for the past four years?
 
I believe Romney won the second debate also. He had some great points where obama just faltered and was unaware how to respond just like what his reasoning on why gas was so cheap when he was president. Let us all pray for good change and pray for Mitt to win. 4 more years of obama will destroy the great country of America.

I have delivered many an interactive presentation, been at many business meetings and have negotiated many times. It really isn’t possible to give much detail in a handful of minutes. About all one can do is deliver concepts and touch a few rebuttal points briefly in a context like this debate. Real negotiation is a process of clearing the clutter to get to the real meat of the matter and getting it resolved. That’s awfully hard to do in any adversarial situation, and certainly difficult when the time limitations are too constraining.

While I’m sure many would disagree with me, I felt there was but one truly epiphanic moment in the whole thing. A moment of real clarity amidst the clutter. And that’s when Romney responded to the black questioner. True, Romney’s response was a variation on the 'are you better off than you were four years ago", but it had differences and I felt it had real resonance.

Romney delivered it as one would to a friend, and he kept looking at the questioner the whole time, just as one would in an earnest conversation. His message was: “The economic situation is bad and slowly getting worse. You know it. I know it. Everybody feels it. Obama’s measures have failed. We are not required to endure this for another four years. But we will if Obama is re-elected. We are not obligated to volunteer for it.”

Reminded one of the moment when the curtain was pulled back on the Wizard of Oz.

If GWB couldn’t quite destroy the country in eight years, I doubt Obama has much of a shot, try as he may.

I’m really baffled by comments like this. One of the reasons that GW was so…liberal and
such a spender is that he tried to work with Democrats. His thinking had to do with his
success in Texas, but that brand of Democrats is/was more conservative. Even at that,
his spending was half in 8 years than what Obama’s is in less than 4 years.
And he had 9-11 to overcome!!!

And, yes, Obama “has a shot” if he’s elected to completely destroy our country. But he’s
not going to win.👍

GWB’s thinking to invade Iraq instead of pursuing OBL in Afghanistan and Pakistan had to do with his success in Texas? And you blame the Democrats for Bush’s spending? Surely you jest. And, don’t forget, 9-11 occurred on Bush’s watch, just as Bengazi did on Obama’s. But you’re loyal to a fellow Texan, and I can appreciate that.

And of course Senate minority leader Mitch McConnell made his now infamous statement about their number one goal was to keep Barack Obama a 1 term President. They have attempted to acheive their goal by obstructing every chance they get. And we have seen the last 2 yrs have the Tea Party House certainly had no interest in working with Obama.

For the first 2 years of his presidency, Obama had a Democrat majority in the House and a Democrat majority in the Senate. He could have done anything he wanted. He spent that time ramming Obamacare down our throats. He still has a Democrat run Senate.

Democrats just like to yell. Period. It doesn’t have to make sense. Politics for some people is just glorified fist-fighting and it’s no wonder when they’re in office nothing really gets done.
