As a population-yup

As an individual-nope;)
Did any of the current population have any (name removed by moderator)ut into the document? We the people…who ratified it…died 200+ years ago. Why should I be bound to something that was relevant then, but may not have any bearing anymore and that I had no say in? I am bound to a piece of vellum and ink, written by a few dozen old rich guys, many of whom had animosity toward my Catholic faith, who were not dealing with the issues we are today.

The Constitution is a nice piece of history. It needs to be rewritten.

And then rewritten. And then rewritten. And then rewritten.

The Founding Fathers were geniuses and a blessing of God on this nation, in particular, and on mankind, in general.

The Declaration and Constitution were the two greatest political documents ever written and, I daresay, ever to be written. We tamper with the Constitution to our great peril.

What’s the difference? Abortion? I can guarantee you that neither is going to do anything about making it illegal. We have to do the job and convince others that it is murder.
Romney may not be able to get abortion illegel, but Obama may try to get rid of those who servive an abortion. 🤷

Careful what you wish for. Our liberal friends would love to rewrite the Constitution, and it would be to our detriment.

Boy, I don’t know about this map. It shows my state (Mo) ā€œleaningā€ Romney. I think I know my state, and Obama is going to get mashed here this time around. He will get St. Louis City, Jackson County and Boone County more likely than not. Maybe one more in the old ā€œlead beltā€. Everywhere else, he will get crushed, including in the metropolitan counties of St. Louis which have a bigger population by far than the City.

What say you, qui est-ce and Scipio? (if you’re here) You live in the St. Louis metro area. Do you agree?

Maybe he’s afaid that the Lake Michagen wind may blow in a snow/sleet/rain storm. 😃

It isn’t a document that floated down from heaven. The founders were smart, but they aren’t the last smart people to ever exist. Thomas Jefferson believed that we should have a convention every 20-30 years so that the foundation of the law would always remain current. It also gives ā€œWe the Peopleā€ a chance to press the reset button on all of this cumbersome over-regulation and tax stranglehold politicians have on the country.

They wouldn’t do it in a vacuum. It would also give us a chance to redefine the nation. If it was in California’s (or Texas, or all of New England, as examples) best interest to split off and form their own nation, may God bless their endeavors (as an example).

Maybe a Constitutional Convention every 20 years might not have been such a bad idea. Now, we just rely on 9 Jusices to change it whenever they take a notion to!

That’s only because the Supreme Court has been politicized, which is unfortunate and not what the founders envisioned.

Obama visits the Daily Show with Jon Stewart, says four Americans getting killed is - ho-hum- not optimal.
ā€œHere is what I will say, if four Americans get killed it is not optimal,ā€

washingtonpost.com/politics/decision2012/on-daily-show-with-jon-stewart-obama-defends-libya-response-jokes-about-biden/2012/10/18/27ea5cac-1965-11e2-bd10-5ff056538b7c_story.html

With the latest gallup poll results showing Romney with a 7 point lead, its clear that more and more Americans view a 2nd Obama term as ā€œnot optimal.ā€

Wonder if this will replace the outrage over Romney’s ā€œbinders of womenā€ comment?

im not a fan of either candidate but I have to vote my Faith even the Obama is pro-union and I am a Union carpenter. Mit has my vote

There is a poll that follows the electoral map that as accurately called every single presidential election since 1980. 100% accurate since 1980 and they predict Mitt will win in a landslide. I can see the race going either way, though lately Mitt’s been inching further and further ahead (which is great). Though it’s still waaaaay too early for anyone to rejoice by any means. But maybe they’ll be right again. Last debate is on foreign policy which even hardcore libs will admit was obama’s weakest aspect of his presidency. Should Romney dominate in this last debate it might push enough of the undecideds to his side to make that prediction a reality. I, like many others, am not for either candidate. But I think we’re all in agreement that a two term obama is not good for anyone.

again, the liberal media has got obama’s back. it was an uncomfortable moment for obama during the debate when libya was brought up, so he had to go on the jon stewart show to repeat what he said and make sure everyone knows what a strong stance he has made although he never answered the question as to who made the decision to DENY more security at benghazi. obama is so starstruck, he really gets tickled going on these shows.
