simply am saying if it upsets someone so much that his name is on the check, they don’t have to accept it.
Perhaps if the check is in mint condition, perhaps one day it can bring more than $1200 to a check collector. 🙂

So a couple making an income of $150,000 a year should have enough discretionary income to not need an extra $1200 to spend to help the economy.

If you are to get one you are free to give it away to a charity of your choice. I’m sure your parish, like many others, could use the money.

Our farmers feed us.

And if it was meant to help people who were laid off or lost their jobs, why is it being given to people who are still working or people who get social security?
Exactly. If you have a job and are bringing money in, you don’t need it. Stimulating the economy? Please.

So, if you have a job and are bringing in money, consider donating the relief check to Feeding America, World Central Kitchen, and/or Catholic Charities.

Subsidies to farmers - Farmers do what? Grow plant based food, grow animals, produce milk, all of which goes into America’s food supply. Farmers are conservators of the land. Farmers are employers.

So Republican subsidies of farmers or Democratic subsidies of people unwilling to be productive?

Yes but they’re doing it at a loss. Of course like oil producers, they tend to do better when others in the industry go bankrupt or lower their production. Either way they turn to the government for aid.

That said there are growing lines for the food. We should hope they find a way to reach those lines.

Grammatical correction: They had been dead (prior to being coined or printed).

I think everyone knows the government can just give people back their own money.

In this case our future money is being given ‘back’ to us now. That is, they will have to take it from us in the future.

It is pretty obvious that when you push the government budget to the maximum then this makes the government quite ineffectual when we hit real problems.

Who else should they turn to? Do you have any idea of what it means to be a farmer? Do you believe farmers can just go away? Do you understand that without farmers, Americans do not eat?

I live in a state where agriculture is our largest industry by far. The town I live in is all agriculture. My home is surrounded by farm fields and dairies. Every business in our small town is geared toward farming.

So I guess you would rather shut all this down and put everyone in this small town on some type of Democrat socialism? Just free stuff?

I think those folks were more the target of the SBA loan programs. I wouldn’t know, since I applied and have heard crickets ever since. Government failing yet again, it seems.

I missed that first post. Our schools must be doing a terrible job. I do not know if it is Trump supporters, conservatives, or the general public, but there is a huge segment of the population that does not know what socialism is.
