Give it up, hon. Not even Fox “News” is denying it. Heck, even Breitbart is confirming
It is on the memo line so who cares? People are sick out here and dying.

One remembers how Obama endorsed calling the ACA “Obamacare”. I remember as well seeing his name on signs for the few road projects his trillion dollar stimulus package paid for.

But that was him.

I tried to read your post charitably. This means I looked at your examples to see if they were on the same planet as the example and appearance here of his name and inferential conveyance on a personal check.
No, not same planet! How about solar system? Nope!
In the typical deceit hopeful style, he ordered that someone create the illusion that he was giving people money. Personally!

I wonder how many bridges in Louisiana are NOT named after Huey P. Long.

If we can have presidents’ portraits on our currency, why not have our current president’s name on the relief checks? What can possibly be wrong with that? He IS our president, after all, and the checks are being issued during HIS administration. He is our country’s top executive.

It must bother him that so many are getting electronic deposits so they won’t see his signature.

Apparently he has not gotten to Matthew 6:2-4 in his bible reading yet.

2 So when you give to the needy, do not announce it with trumpets, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and on the streets, to be honored by others. Truly I tell you, they have received their reward in full. 3 But when you give to the needy, do not let your left hand know what your right hand is doing, 4 so that your giving may be in secret. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you.

Has any President decreed that his own portrait by put on a denomination of our currency?

Are the checks to people in need being held up for this vanity?

Really? The name of the President on the checks?

Meh.

Worrying about this is a waste of energy. He is the President. There is nothing wrong with the checks noting this. This falls into the category of criticism for criticism sake.

WOW - I guess I need to indicate (with words) when I intend sarcasm
Or emoji, or some other marker. Tone is often lost when communication is restricted to text. And we’ve seen a rather diverse set of positions here in the forum which makes it hard to establish a baseline for being serious.

It is intended to provide personal political benefit for Trump only.
Deception to confer personal benefit.
Your post reminds that deceptive self serving political ploys have become normalized.
He cuts off WHO in violation of Congressional mandate. Same thing he was impeached for. But the nation now knows he is impervious thanks to McConnell and his devil’s bargain with his wife.

Hoover Dam, Obamacare - examples of where the name of the person in charge gets press. Here, roads have the commissioners names on them, building have the name of the county judge in office when they were erected. I simply will not give this minor point any emotional energy. Quite frankly, I think when it is given importance it waters down really serious issues, like de-funding WHO.

He could put his face on my money and not get my vote, so I do not care.

Putting his face on the money, and the other things you mentioned, are not the same as doctoring checks to make it appear as if Trump is writing personal checks to voters. That should be obvious but it appears not to be because of your examples.

He was right to defund them.
Good for you. Vote for him. I think it was a horrible decision, and I will not.

What is obvious to me is that he is not writing me a personal check. I guess if someone is too dense to understand this then they are probably too dense to figure out how to vote (except in Florida, which has worried me every years since 2000).

Why do you insist on replying to half-joking posts in such a humorless manor? No one wants to engage you in a discussion on who controls the purse strings in America when A) that wasn’t the point of my comment and B) it isn’t that serious to most normal people amidst actual serious things. Regarding who controls the purse strings in America, everyone knows it is our wives, anyway.

Seriously, half my posts are not serious. Do me a favor and stop replying to them as though the logic is scrambling incompatible circuity. It reminds me of the crew of Star Trek TNG grappling with Data’s inability to not be literal around a joke, or trying to literally verify the adage that a “watched pot never boils”.

When it comes to Trump, the people who obsess over trivialities are humorless.
