Well, now, she’s had her wish fulfilled. I hope she’s happy now (probably not though…never seen the woman smile).

yes he handled it very well. He answered a question from the press. Maybe if Bush and anyone else quit indulging the press, they may actually have to start asking actual questions.

The press has way too much control on what we think.
Its about time it stopped.

Mr. Bush has not called on her in years. Why now?
Poll numbers are sinking? People losing confidence in Bush’s handling of Iraq?

It’s no accident he called on Helen Thomas. She’s a lightening rod. It fires up the base and the pro war right wing punditry gets revved into attack mode against the traditional media.

Maybe he wanted to pick a fight with the media. It looks like it’s been more than three years since he called on her. Here’s a quote from her from January 24, 2006 after a press conference where he didn’t call on her. What a hoot!****

**“He’s a coward,” Thomas said afterward. “He’s supposed to be this macho guy. He’ll take on Osama bin Laden, but he won’t take me on.” ******
And when he takes her on you criticize him. It is not surprising that a bidder 84-year-old semi-senile woman to hold the view she does. What scares me how many of the reporters half her age agree with her.

:rotfl:And it was answered by a college “C” student!

But I have no idea if it was cowardice or not. However, I’m not sure if she’s right about him being willing to take on Osama bin Laden.

And what was your GPA at Harvard school of business?

That’s right. It’s all in the *Vast Right Wing Conspiracy Handbook. 😉 *

I went to grad school at Northwestern and I wasn’t a “legacy” or the daughter of a politician. Are you sure you want me to tell you my GPA? I don’t want to make you feel bad.
Wouldn’t make me feel bad at all. I don’t judge people by their GPA like you evidently do. I judge them by what they accomplished. People on the left on the other hand seem to be very impressed by paper credentials. %between% When you become president of the United States come back and tell us how great your GPA was.

Of course you give me anything you want. People on the internet can hold themselves out to be anyhting they want.Personally I had a 4.0 grade-point average fromYale, Harvard, Princeton and Dartmouth.

From where I sit, after graduation, GPA is pretty much a useless stat–be it a 2.3 or a 4.0.

Its useful only for your first job interview out of school as that is all the employer can go on. However those who have accmplished little will wave their GPA and the deficieciences of the GPAs of those they are jealous of around like the sword of excalibur for the rest of their lives.

I pretty much agree with you. I know a couple of people who have been to school and got their bachelor’s degrees and now that they’re 50+ and losers, act like they are better than everyone else because they did get their degree (some in my own family act like this). I myself dropped out of college because it wasn’t the thing for me, focused on my business, and then signed up for the military. After a year at working on making my business profitable, I sold it for a lot more than I started with and joined the military to serve my country and to further my education in a trade. School isn’t everything, especially now days when it’s better to have a trade and know how to interact in the real world. Real world experience will get you a lot further than some piece of paper from 20 years ago.

On my very first job we hired a new CPA who was very , very proud of his high grades on that years CPA exam. Finally his bragging got to be too much and the comtroller of the company called him and pointed to HIS CPA certificate on the wall. He said "son can you show me where the grades are listed on the Certificate? The kid replied “why they dont list the grades on your certificate”. The controller said-right-now get back to you desk and get to work. To his credit he got the point and years later used the same technique on another newbie!
