I had a
VERY strange experience once.
I was at Mass during my lunch hour in lower Manhattan, and I noticed something on the floor, just beyond my reach, next to where the side/end of the pew meets the floor.
For all the world it looked like the rim of a Host (like a very slim crescent moon). I could hardly concentrate on the Mass because one half of my brain kept saying, "That’s part of a Host!

" while the other half was saying, “It can’t be… What did somebody do - bite into it and drop what was left?”
I knew that the only way I could reach it was to get out of the pew and get on my knees in the aisle and reach around for it, and I didn’t want to disrupt the Mass in any way, especially since I wasn’t sure what it was.
As soon as Mass ended, I got up, and in what I assume looked like a really strange genuflection, I picked it up **AND IT WAS PART OF A HOST !! **
(I hadn’t called the Priest to come and pick it up because I really had convinced myself that my eyes must have been playing a trick on me and because of the size and shape of the fragment, it certainly couldn’t have been a piece of a Host, so I didn’t want to bother Fr. A.)
I immediately went into the sacristy, and I was so unhinged by the experience that I could barely speak. I whisphered, “Fr. A - look what I found!”
I gave him the Sacred Fragment, kissed my hand, and went back to work.
To this day, I can’t figure out how you can bite into a Host (and these were the smaller white hosts, not the larger whole wheat ones), leave a crescent moon shape, have it not crack and break apart, and then lose it on the floor.
