Priest Abuse Scandal Question?

So far, it seems no-one has a solid answers as why the abuses dropped do dramatically from the mid-80s to today. I think it is important to learn why.
 
hey opie, theres no reason for the numbers to drop. its just that the parish leaders cover it up better. cardinal law got busted for his covering up activities, and now i saw on the news that mahoney is under investigation by Los Angeles distric attorney for covering up abuse.

No, all the studies show that abuse by priests has dropped dramatically. This is based on police reports not on what the Church says. And Cardinal Mahoney is being investigated for past abuses; he paid out, on behalf of our archdiocese, 666 million dollars! Well, I rounded that up, it was actually $660 million, but you get the idea. Anyhow, I did give a couple more reasons for the drop earlier on this thread.

hi there. does that raise any eyebrows, even yours, as to the rampant child abuse in the clergy?
