I don’t think CAIR is the “greater takeaway” to everyone here. It’s more that those of us who are either in agreement with the bishop, or respect his ability to understand what’s going on in his own diocese and deal with it, are not posting in this thread because the bishop already said what needed to be said, nuff said.

I respectfully understand that this bishop maybe aware of particular situations but a broader understanding is that the number of jihad attacks and murder of Christians around the world since 9/11 in the name of Islam in accord with its teachings is large.

To say that Islam is a threat does not mean that Muslims are less than as human beings.
Criticizing an ideology is not to hate anyone.

Fr. VandenBroeke simply noted a real threat.
To “consider the religion and worldview of the immigrants or refugees” is far from reckless discrimination, intolerance and religious fundamentalism.
Recognizing this is not un-Catholic.
