NEW YORK - A priest has been arrested on charges of stalking late-night talk show host Conan O’Brien by writing him threatening notes on parish letterhead, contacting his parents and showing up at his studio, prosecutors said Wednesday. The Rev. David Ajemian, a priest in the Archdiocese of Boston, was arrested last week while trying to enter a taping session of NBC’s “Late Night with Conan O’Brien” at New York’s Rockefeller Plaza, said Barbara Thompson, a spokeswoman for the Manhattan prosecutor’s office.
Ajemian referred to himself as “your priest stalker” in one note and complained of not being allowed in to see an earlier taping of the O’Brien show, court papers say.

This was on the news…wonder what he was doing? I mean, what was his reason:confused:

No reason that makes any sense. This man is evidently mentally ill and his reasoning for zeroing in on Conan O’Brien wouldn’t make sense to anyone. His fixation on O’Brien is rooted in his delusion.

The priest could stand our prays just about now. :gopray:

I just wonder why Conan the Catholic couldn’t have handled this more discreetly. Maybe he did try but with no success.

From what I have read and seen, this has been going on for some time. Now, surely the Bishop has had an inkling about something being “off kilter” with this priest. My question is why haven’t they gotten this man some help? It is a no brainer that this man is not well. Doesn’t take rocket science to figure that out.

And yes, I totally agree, this priest could surely stand our prayers right about now.:yup:

Here’s the Boston Archdiocese’s statement with regard to Fr. Ajemian.

And where else could he come from other than Boston? That place has produced more than its share of off-the-wall priests over the years. And I thank God he was caught before someone was seriously hurt. But the fact he was ordained at all in the first place, and continued to minister long after the 2002 abuse scandals, is yet another in a long line of embarrassments for the Church.

I just hope Conan O’Brien and his legal represenatives won’t sue the Boston Archdiocese over this.

I know Rev.Ajemian, he’s a very kind and gentle person with a sense of humor. He was only trying to engage with Conan, using humor and mystery, to elicit a response, Conan is a comedian. Maybe he went overboard. But you know, the two met in person last year, the Rev. was Conan’s parent’s parish priest for a time too. He was no stranger to them. I don’t understand why they took such extreme measures. Are Conan’s ratings down?
