And by most useful, i’m sure they mean most conservative
😉
There is no such thing as a conservative, liberal or progressive Catholic. That is marketing concept for people that want to ignore the teachings of Christ. Either one follows the teachings of Christ and the Church or you do not.

To apply man’s standards to God is wrong.

LifeSite isn’t a good news source, he’s right about that.
I agree… LifeSite is horrible. When ever someone links to it on these forums I never read from it. It’s a religious version of the National Enquirer.

My thoughts exactly
😊

It’s propaganda IMHO

I suppose that Lifesite news is a news site that those who are active homosexuals would not like.

No news site is ever perfect, but their research is so good on news that it would be impossible for me to ignore.

Yeah…

So good? meh, I suggest CNN, BBC, or even Fox News above it any day.

The nice thing about news, is that we can listen from many sources. Also one of the editors of Lifesite was interviewed on Fox news The O’Reilly Factor a few years ago.

Can you post evidence?
They never can.

I suspect that people’s real issue with it is that Lifesite is against the Democrat Party. That is the main “sin” that causes people to dismiss it.

The original comments are awful, but I agree that LifeSite is not a legitimate news source.
Defend this statement please.

Is it impossible to be a news source with a bias? Was the party press of 1800s and 1900s not a valid news source?

You can’t make a statement like that and not offer some defense.

Yes and Lifesite is fine about the issue of abortion, it’s some of the other thing that it says that angers me
Oh I get it…

If it angers you it can’t be legitimate, for your feelings are paramount to everything else.

Teenagers…

Will you please get back on topic?

And stop attacking each other while you’re at it.

Precisely. If we can’t get beyond “my feelings” and back your argument with FACTS what is the point of any intelligent discussion here? Moral relativism continues to rule the day.

People keep alleging that LifeSite is inaccurate and so forth, but no one has of yet offered any concrete proof or evidence to back up their claims. 🤷 I’m sorry, but I don’t trust allegations of inaccuracy on the word of a few people who have a reason to be prejudiced against a pro-life and pro-Catholic website to begin with.

I addressed this in post #50.

Don’t take my word for it, take Jimmy Akin’s word for it. 🙂 I’m still not sure why LSN published so many articles on Harry Potter in the first place. 🤷

I’m very much pro-life and I appreciate what LSN tries to do, but they can go a little overboard in the hyperbole department.

I remember well that controversy about Harry Potter and Jimmy Akin and while they did stretch the truth about the Pope condemning it, you have to realize that part of its mandate is family friendly news. Some Christian/Catholic families don’t like the Harry Potter series.

I took a break from this thread and have just returned to it.

Once again all I find is a lot of people attacking a website called LifeSite. They are repeatedly asked to give examples of how it actually says things that are wrong - and they don’t give examples.

Many of them actually argue that the secular news organisations are fine. What?! Have they not seen the incredible anti-Catholic, anti-Christian, pro-abortion bias in the major secular news organisations?

I will say it again. If you don’t want to accept the report on LifeSite then give examples of when they have given false reports.

I read Jimy Akins post. It was very narrow in scope. It did not condemn the site. It condemned the manor in; which, a story was written. I find it hard to condemn a site because of one story.

I really struggle with this thread. I have been posting on several “liberal” secular sites and have found that these sites post opinions. They never post facts. The majority of these opinions are based upon political marketing and not facts or critical thinking. For example they will state “Separation of Church and State” which is not in the Constitution and every Founding Father refuted. (I can post all of this on another thread.) Or that pro-life people are one issue voters. We are not. Abortion just happens to be so overwheming that it takes precedent. We certainly look at all issues and try to impact as many as possible. My point is that people fall for marketing gimmics by politicians instead of looking for facts. This thread has broken down to this same concept. People giving personal opinions that they can not defend. As such I am going to leave this thread. Bless all of you.
