It’s his money he can dispose of it any way he pleases but I wouldn’t have done it. If I had $15,000 for which I had no use I would invest it and give the interest in perpetuity to a group like Fr Groeschel’s priests or EWTN or Catholic Answers to use as they see fit. $15,000 given away in dribs and drabs may make the giver feel good but in the long term doesn’t really do anything for the material condition of the poor or advance their Faith life .
