May the Lord bless his efforts. Priests have been instrumental in mediation in the past in Northern Ireland.
Also, the Real IRA have not merely threatened to execute - their killing campaign has already begun.
I grew up in Northern Ireland, although I have lived in the US for the last 8 years. This return to the bloody days of the Troubles does not reflect the will of the vast majority in Northern Ireland. Once again – we have extremists acting on nothing but their own arrogance.
It is very sad and very troubling. May God forgive them. Many prayers are needed for this area and for the sad individuals who think they are fighting for some cause or other - they are so sorely mistaken…
