Let us all say three Hail Marys for this priest who is suffering from the diabolical disorientation that Our Lady warned of at Fatima.

For this cause God delivered them up to shameful affections. For their women have changed the natural use into that use which is against nature. And, in like manner, the men also, leaving the natural use of the women, have burned in their lusts one towards another, men with men working that which is filthy, and receiving in themselves the recompense which was due to their error. And as they liked not to have God in their knowledge, God delivered them up to a reprobate sense, to do those things which are not convenient (Romans 1:26-28).

St. Paul, pray for us.

Our Lady of Fatima, pray for us.

As America continues its rapid change, Catholics wrestle with serious moral issues, as do most people of any faith. One major change in the past 20 years has been the full acceptance of homosexuality as God-given and therefore sacred.
It’s a shame for this man to cloud Church teaching in this manner. Actually, it’s more of an outright lie.

Lord have mercy.

Amazing…he says the Letter of James prohibits hate speech…even if that is not taken out of context, there are a lot of other things the Bible prohibits which he fails to mention. I guess he forgot that the Bible prohibits homosexuality, too.

How do priests get away with such distortion/warping of Church doctrine?

Did he say that he supported homosexual activity? Or that he wanted everyone to respect people who are homosexuals?

The bit about homosexuality being “holy” goes a bit far though:confused:

Opinion article written by a priest in the Archdiocese of Louisville; this was printed in the state newspaper over the weekend.
Hi everyone here, I have taken a look at the article and am not seeing it the way you do:confused:
I recently had occasion to do some research on what and how the Church is dealing with this phenomenon of our times. There is much to be read…it seems to me that he is ‘summarising’ too briefly and it can lead to the wrong impression.

The Catholic Church opposes gay marriage and the social acceptance of homosexuality and same-sex relationships, but teaches that homosexual persons deserve respect, justice and pastoral care.

I love it when someone rocks the boat. Upsets all the Pharisees.

Well, I suppose it is holy, just as the Cross itself is Holy, if accepted as God intents to give it. It must be accepted as a cross, as a means that calls the person to suffer with Christ and achieve holiness through chastity and obedience to God and His Church.

Then, and ONLY then, can homosexuality be consider to be sacred.

To quote from his article-
“One major change in the past 20 years has been the full acceptance of homosexuality as God-given and therefore sacred.”

If memory serves the stance has changed from homosexuals being disordered, to homosexual acts being disordered. You’re right though, that’s a far cry from it being sacred.
