From The Scotsman:
A PRIEST is to sue the Catholic Church for sacking him over an 18-year affair with a woman.

Former monsignor Joseph Creegan is the first Scottish priest to take the Church to court, claiming for lost wages via an employment tribunal.

How ridiculous. The priest should have realized that if he was going to have an affair with a woman that he could lose his job. I pray that the priest confesses his sins and comes back to the Church.

The Priest is outrageous in trying to sue but the Diocese is also kinda stupid in the legal argument it wants to make by saying the Priest is employed by God and not the Bishop. I suppose there is a legal side to this but it seems strange.

Well, in a sense I suppose it’s accurate to say that the priest is an independant businessman under contract to the Diocese.

What is the law regarding contract employees? (I am under the impression that they can be let go for any reason, and even for no reason.)

Well God may employ the priest but it certainly wasn’t God who fired him 🤷

Just when you think you’ve heard everything… :nope: :bigyikes: :tsktsk:

Eighteen years? That’s a life time relationship! He should pay back to the Church instead.
