what is “his flat”?
Sorry, I did not mean to imply that he had possessions. It was just a lazy way of refering to the flat he was occupying.what is “his flat”?![]()
an apartment.what is “his flat”?![]()
Hold the phone there kellie - that’s a leap and you know it. We have no idea what’s going on there.…and chastity …
It appears his superiors are aware of this situation and do not share your concerns–especially since they appointed this woman to be a spiritual director for your parish. She may be an integral part of how he manages his various duties to the parish. Is this all that different from an executive who brings his administrative assistant with him into a new position/company? At this point, M.Y.O.B. and at all costs refrain from gossiping about this with other parishoners.Hi,
This priest came 3 months back from other parish along with this lady. He announced in the mass that Bishop has appointed this lady as a Spritual Director to this parish. I heard both were in the same parish before. In my parish there was no Spritual Director before and a new position is created for this lady and the parishners are forced to pay salary for this lady.

Ohhh, thank you. hmm, I’ve found it is very odd for a priest to share an apartment with a lady. I never heard of this before.an apartment.
Meaning she is free to date, not meaning she was having sex with the priest, but free from the boundsof chastity associated with being a nun.Hold the phone there kellie - that’s a leap and you know it. We have no idea what’s going on there.

Ok - now I know what you mean -Meaning she is free to date, not meaning she was having sex with the priest, but free from the boundsof chastity associated with being a nun.
Are we not taught to avoid the near occasion of sin? There is nothing wrong with a man and woman living together as brother and sister.I would trust in the priest until he proved me wrong. I think it’s completely possible to have friendship that is not sexual. Would anyone be commenting on monks and nuns who live together? I think that sometimes it’s nice to have someone around when you live alone.
I agree with this post.I have known protestant vicars who live with lodgers for a time - people who travel in christian bands or youth groups etc.
I have never had a problem with this. Until I thought that any relationship was sexual I don’t understand what the problem is.
I’d also consider the point that for anything to appear sinful or cause scandal…it needs people who view the situation as sinful or scandelous and so speculation and gossip are half the problem.

Sorry, I don’t know how to word my thoughts some timesOk - now I know what you mean -

Do you know of such a situation? It has been my impression that they observe a very strict separation in separate monasteries.. . . Would anyone be commenting on monks and nuns who live together? . . …
sorry Joe… I meant to say that for me, I have trust in people vows. I trust that monks (living with monks) and nuns (living with nuns) are not sexually attracted to eachother and can live with companionship… In the same way I believe a man and a woman can live with companionship and friendship in some situations. They don’t create the scandal… those who gossip do that.Do you know of such a situation? It has been my impression that they observe a very strict separation in separate monasteries.
MAybe he converted from a different rite and has a wife? Or maybe he needs assistance or maybe it’s no one’s business. If you have a problem ask him or the diocese. But please don’t assume anything or start spreading rumors. Rumors can ruin people’s reputation and that is hard or impossible to fix.Hi,
