By the Associated Press

Police say a Roman Catholic priest foiled a theft attempt Tuesday by tackling an intruder in a downtown Indianapolis church.

The man and another intruder escaped briefly but police say they tracked them down using a description provided by the Reverend Noah Casey of Saint John’s Catholic Church.

Casey found the intruders rummaging through an office in the church rectory about 1:30 a.m. One of the men escaped, and he tackled the other one. But he also got away.

Arrests may solve church burglaries in Florida

Indianapolis - Two suspects are in the Marion County Jail after a church burglary in Indiana and several out of state. They say three Florida counties near Tampa started calling Indianapolis police Tuesday afternoon, as soon as they learned of the arrests following a break-in at St. John’s Church.

They were arrested in chilly Indianapolis, but the two suspected church thieves are from sunny Florida.

Believe it or not, the break in all those Florida break-ins may have come across from the RCA Dome at old St. John Catholic Church.
That is where, early Tuesday morning, Father Noah Casey laid on a tackle the Colts across the street might have been proud of when the pastor heard two people trying to get out of a church basement window.
I was thinking that when I saw the first post. I take it he’s a huge football fan. 👍 (Why else would the church be across the street from the RCA Dome?)

Well, the church was there long before the dome (and will be there long after as well).

I have heard that the RCA Dome is going to be replaced soon.
yes, we still are paying for the money lent to build Market Square Arena which was demolished in 2001. Don’t get me started on the soon-to-be replaced dome!

Never mind the stupid taxes on the Dome. Hooray for Father Noah!!!

Yes. We have a few kooks, but a goodly number of good men. Thank God for them.

I know, but just thought I’d mention that the Matrix priest is a fine priest, also. Very orthodox and into youth stuff.
