trying to figure out how some of you can tell if a priest is “gay”… unless he was “found out” or there was a scandal. Not all gay men are effeminant.

In this situation, I would stand as requested. Then I would ask later and I would check the bulletin to see if there was something there I missed.

lol! I was wondering about the Gay thing as well! See your like me, I would assume there’s something I’m missing so I’d go along 🙂 I don’t know if that is a good thing. :hmmm: 🙂

KUDOS…may as well add me to the list of people that will not support Gay priests…👍
Gay priests or not, I will not support any priest who willfully disobeys Holy Mother Church.

For many of us, we used to be able to claim that priests may have been ignorant of the GIRM and what it says, but that cannot be said today, especially in the US. Our souls are not pawns in some battle of wills between those who council abandoning our T(t)raditions and those who would cling tenaciously to them.

Should we just lay down and allow those who “feel” it necessary to somehow make themselves so much holier or more in-tune than our Holy Father? Should I allow someone to desecrate my Lord and Saviour because they feel its ok to let just anyone have His body and blood? What this priest is requesting is not so large a thing, but truely, if you are willing to disobey the smallest thing perhaps even trivial thing, then what else are you capable of doing? We do not know the intent of this priest, he may truely feel he has the best intentions for his flock, but the fact still remains that we are called to obey Holy Mother Church who has been defending us against the gates of Hell for 2000 years.

Christ created here on Earth something much greater than anything our corrupted minds could ever invision, and yet, we continue each day to erode, to destroy it, all with the best intentions, intentions bred out of some misguided thinking that we somehow know better than the Church. Are we looking at the entirety of the world or just our own small niche? The beauty of the Church is that it can feed the whole of hmanity f humanity would just take what it needs and not just what it wants. Humanity needs Christ, needs Him in the Eucharist, needs its King whole and true, needs Him to guide and protect us, but what do we do when He is present?

Your priest is God’s representative, therefore you obey him during the Mass and if you’re troubled by it seek him out AFTER Mass and find out what the reasons are.
Ask him if he minds if you follow the tradition.
Actually the priest is not “God’s representative” at Mass, he is “Alter Christus”.

As far as obedience goes, the priest MUST obey someone else, namely the Master of Ceremonies, if there is one. The MC must always be ready to correct any possible errors made by the priest at all times.

If the priest is being dissobedient to the GIRM by instructing you to do something against it then you DO NOT have to obey him since the GIRM is the final authority with rubrics for the Novus Ordo Mass. No priest has the authority to do otherwise.

I have been to this sort of thing as well. It was at my grandfather’s funeral and many there were not Catholics- therefore in order not to offend them he told the people to remain standing. The utterly disgusting thing on top of that was when he invited all those who were not Catholics to receive holy communion. So everyone did- my father- now remarried on his third marriage - latest to a non-Catholic- and all my grandfather’s children- who are all on their third and fourth marriages outside the church- my step mother- a non Catholic even did one of the readings…

Pray for the Church, especially these priests who have been taught by the progressives who want to change the Church into something totally not Catholic.

Any way, my wife and I were the only ones to kneel during the Eucharistic Prayer and the only ones not to go to Holy Communion due to the need for confession.

I think all priests sould be happy! How about we use specific and accurate terms here in posts. “Gay” can have all different meanings. A Homosexual person and a Homosexual relationship / Homosexual lifestyle are two different things. One the Church accepts, the other it does not. Lets get away from these PC and sometimes confusing terms.

Unfortunately this day and age, priests have asked their parishioners to go against set rubrics. This does not mandate obedience on your part when you know that the priest is in error. If you would like to discuss this later with your pastor, I suggest setting up an appointment. Going up to the priest after Mass is a poor time for this type of discussion. Having gone through this type of thing, I know that you are obliged to kneel because this is what the Church has mandated even if the local priest does not go along with it.

That would be the way.
No one questioned until a scandal. We know better now.
We question, priests are not little gods.
Any good priest doesn’t want to be though of as a little god anyway.

You have the wisdom of Solomon.
(BTW, I said homosexual)

But the church still does not accept a homosexual priest.
Those who have same sex attractions and remain chaste I’m almost sure are acceptable. Is that right?

Is this really an issue Christ would care about (no offense intended)?
