In today’s day and age, for good or for ill, a Priest with a colorful past is going to become a rarity.

I think priests with sin in their pasts, like all sinners, need our prayers. Remember St Monica, who prayed unceasingly for years that her reprobate son would convert, and her prayers were answered gloriously and with rich reward.
