Pro choice but not Pro Abortion

Let me see if I get what you are saying. You say that you are not personally for killing children. BUT you want mothers to be allowed to do so if they want to?! Am I understanding your question correctly… that you support murder of the innocent even though you would never actually take part in it yourself? Umm… I think that you should probably re-think your position.

Everyone has that choice. But should the choice to kill be protected by the state, as a ‘good’ for its citizens. The unborn are also citizens of the state. The state’s function is to act to protect its citizens.

Honey, you don’t have any say in whether your girlfriend obtains an abortion. You cannot stop her.

And, of course, your girlfriend would not have any reason to consdier an abortion if you are abiding by church teaching and refraining from sex until marriage.

Not all things should be choices. Murder is one of those things.

And, in case you haven’t noticed, you don’t have a “choice” about whether you wear a seatbelt, smoke in restaurants in most cities, drive any speed you wish, murder, rape, steal, pay taxes, or litter.

And, abortion is not a Christian issue. It is a human issue. The killing of babies is of concern to all people.

There is no such thing as being “pro-choice”. What a person who says they are “pro-choice” really means is they are in favor of the legal status of baby killing.

Would you be the man in that story? I certainly would not. Yet by the same logic, when a woman gets an abortion, she is saying she does not want the baby in her house, or in her life. When you support her “right” to choose, you are the man in the story. So what is the difference? Out of sight, out of mind? Please…don’t be that guy.

Some choices are wrong. Do I believe that our country should give women the freedom to kill their children? No, I do not. Not because I do not want women to have choices, but because everyone deserves the opportunity to make choices in their lives. Every child should have that opportunity. Being pro-choice is placing a higher value on one person’s right to a life with choices than another’s…

I take it you have never been pregnant. Well I have. Guess what a pregnant woman is not rational. The hormones make pregnant women not rational. They do not have very good control over their emotions. Really what they need it someone to help them and keep them grounded so that their emotions (good or bad) don’t get the better of them. People with your opinion think they are giving a rational woman a choice. What you are giving is someone who is on an emotional roller coaster a license to kill.

Let me try to help you understand. Please excuse those that are rude to you. Some on these forums believe this topic gives them the “right to choose to be rude and mean”.

Life is a why you and I are here. We did not get a choice in our being born. It wasn’t too terribly long ago that people actually believed they didn’t have this choice at all. It is all a part of certain groups that believe freedoms guaranteed in a written document going back to the 18th century “trump” the eternal laws of God. We are citizens of the USA, but the USA did not create us. The Constitution really is just “the lease of the tenants of the USA”.

So, while it is a commendable quality to want to be a good tenant of the USA, and some people actually like the idea of dying for their landlord, it is with your Creator that you must side in this issue. And just because the landlord writes a bad lease that allows certain groups to get certain rules written into their lease, God is the only true law giver.

We as people of God are bound to try to keep the landlords rules, except when those rules actually go against God’s laws. So a choice is not really a valid choice when it involves a human life, because the government doesn’t have the right to make that choice.

The moment of choice is when you choose to have sex, knowing how babies are made… it is a choice then… after a baby is made… he/she is a life not a choice.

OK… Let me explain errr rather illustrate.

When you make any choice, it is BEFORE you act on it.
Choose to eat? Go to the store, buy food…
Choose to be a teacher? Go to college and learn how…
But with each choice there is a consequence right? Or it wouldn’t be a choice… if you don’t eat… you could die… if you don’t like teaching… you have already spent the $$ on your education… or you may have to go back to school to learn another profession.

So when do we choose life? BEFORE the possible consequence! When is that? BEFORE we have sex! Once an egg is fertilized it is a unique person and as such the rest of society has a duty to protect our weakest members… so why would it be ok to kill them?

So if you aren’t in a position to have a child… or even just plain don’t want one… DON’T HAVE SEX!!! Now thankfully there are ways to prevent a pregnancy but it requires communication and trust… like the way MARRIED couples should communicate… because in reality there are only a couple days a month where pregnancy is possible… but you have to know when they are (ahhh communication) and you have to trust that the “other person” has the same goals as you do (ahhhh trust).

I have never had to vote on abortion, so I guess thus far I haven’t made any bad decisions. (at least I think there hasnt been any voting for that in Arizona since Ive been 18, now 24)

I have a lot to think about then, and I thank everyone for their (name removed by moderator)ut. To sum up what I was thinking last night; I would never want for anyone to get an abortion, but who is to say everyone has my beliefs?

People have a different opinion on when they believe when it is actually a human being. They do not see it as killing a human with in the first trimester.

I want to make it clear that I am taking everyones opinion to heart and am using this topic to learn from.

If you’re against abortion, then when is it right to kill someone? Are you for the war? Many innocent people have died. Are you for the right to own a gun? Guns are designed to kill, pistols are made for killing humans.

People will kill one another based on their choice. If they want to kill and are willing to, they will whether our law permits it.

Slavery? I hope you take your opinion to heart and make sure everything you buy was not made by child slaves in china. Where is the outcry for this? People say its wrong, but continue to support companies that have been sued for this (wal-mart).

I believe all of these choices come with personal responsibility.
