Without looking up all the verses, I’m going to guess that this “clever” tweet is not from a biblical scholar but is rather full of verse completely misunderstood and/or taken out of context.

Okay, just to start things off.
Genesis 2:7 — then the LORD God formed man of dust from the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul
This is talking about the creation of Adam from the earth, not babies that are created in the usual way. It in no way implies that the ability to breathe is what makes a person a person.

I don’t really feel like looking up the other verses. 😝 But I’m sure the passages similarly mean something completely different from what this person seems to think they mean.

Just reading the verses from Exodus, I can tell you that’s not what it says. I have a Bible right next to me

I just looked up the majority of those verses, and since I know the rest are from prophets, they’re probably part of Prophecy, there’s not a single thing written that says that God supports abortion.

Genesis 2:7 — then the LORD God formed man of dust from the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul

What this actually says is that life begins with the infusion of the soul into the body, which happens at conception.

Oops, not replying to @Joe_5859 but adding more to what he was saying

Rosie,

You have posted here numerous times about your culture (Irish traveller) and that you don’t NEED an education. You have proudly proclaimed your lack of education numerous times.

And yet, you post here asking for explanations of every ridiculous meme found on the internet. Have you stopped to consider that your lack of education, and ability to read the bible critically, is directly correlated to your inability to refute the most ridiculous memes and random postings on Facebook that you come across?

Frankly, being proud of being uneducated and simultaneously coming here and expecting people who HAVE taken the time to educate themselves on these topics to do all the work for you to refute every silly internet posting is insulting to those of us who take time to study and learn.

So, i recommend you pick up a book and start reading.

I have lots of books on my faith and I do read them but it’s difficult for me to understand the meaning of some words I have never said I was proud of not having an education…

Yes and Douey Rheims says “breathed into his face”, not breathed into his nostrils, so you can tell the subsequent translations were bending over backwards to try and twist this to make it more about biological maturity rather than spiritual breath like what you correctly stated.

Then perhaps I have misunderstood your past posts where you have said you don’t need an education. I apologize.

There is a good book called Pro-Life Answers to Pro Choice Arguments by Randy Alcorn which you might want to read. You can probably get it through the library.

I’m glad you brought that up, because there are some people here, such as myself, that would be glad to help you.

Trying to read something that has words you don’t understand is like trying to read in a different language That’s why I had to buy a bible that had a more modern translation so I could understand better and I’ll look into this book can it be bought online?

(Please Note: This uploaded content is no longer available.) these are 2 of the books I’ve been reading I’ve also been reading handed down and be hold your mother and Jesus and the Jewish roots of Mary

God said, “Thou shalt not kill.” He doesn’t need to spell out each and every method of killing: “Thou shalt not poison thy neighbor with arsenic.” “Thou shalt not strangle thy neighbor.” “Thou shalt not conduct drive-by shootings.”

Genesis 2:7 reads:
And the Lord God formed man of the slime of the earth: and breathed into his face the breath of life, and man became a living soul.
So, in fact, it says nothing at all about birth, and the “breath” at which life begins in this narrative is not man’s breath but God’s. Indeed, Gen. 2 concerns Adam and Eve, who were not “born” but formed from the slime of the earth, and animated by the breath of God.

These other passages are largely prophesying on the part of God, saying “I will do this” and “I will do that”: they only work as prophesy because they are understood as bad!
