Project Veritas: Bernie Sanders Field Organizer Suggests Gulags to Help

This person was going on about why Bernie Sanders wants to give everyone a free education (I assume he means a college education). It’s so that the students can be educated in how to not be a Nazi (paraphrased). Then he goes on to talk about gulags. Charming.

Do people seriously think that Sanders wants to build re-education camps because of this guy? He’s just some tankie who works in a very low level position as part of his campaign, this hardly means anything. Politics attracts all sorts of odd people.

His followers, mind you. Not Sanders himself. That said, we don’t see Sanders telling them to put a lid on it. Unless I missed something.

Sanders will have to say something; this will be used against him. Just like Bloomberg’s statement about “best” immigrant workers when he really meant “cheaper”.

This is the logical extension of Trump hatred among the ranks of these people. The willingness to take the country on further assaults against the Constitution.

Perhaps of Bernie himself. As a socialist, Sanders has to know that socialism requires coercion, sometimes a lot of it, as an inherent part of the system. The Kulaks don’t give up their horses and barns just because they’re asked. 🙂

He was pro-Soviet Union back in the day. Sang their praises. No way he has not found out over the years just how much coercion was required to build the Potemkin Village he was shown. But he still speaks the socialist language today. Surely he knows that to get every last bit of socialism he wants, he might have to take a few pages from the USSR playbook. And not in a good way.

The man has a tremendous amount of popular support among Democratic Party members and the population at large, there’s no way any notable amount of his supporters are neo-Stalinist types like the man in the video. Sanders is immensely popular among the left and naturally he’s going to absorb some members of the “hard left” that are active in electoral politics. This includes Stalinists but a lot of Trotskyist groups also support him vocally (though naturally they wouldn’t say what the man in that article is saying), but it would be nonsense to then claim that this represents any notable amount of his supporters.

The fact is that if you’re going to argue that this is significant then you would also be forced to admit that the white nationalist support that Trump gets is somehow notable and reflective of the great bulk of his supporters, which I doubt you will do. The truth is that neither of those individuals really represent a break with normal liberal democratic politics, and their movements reflect that.
 
Do we really take seriously an article that’s full of vulgar language like used in this one? Gulags? Reminiscent of the Stalinist era in Russia! All the more reason Mr. Trump should be re-elected.
 
If we’re going to judge a candidate by some small segment of their supporters, then there are going to be a lot of questionable candidates. I would think Republicans would be particularly sensitive to finding members of the wing nut fringe and declaring them to be the embodiment of a candidate’s supporters.

He feels comfortable talking this way. That’s because among friends they are comfortable talking this way and he thought he was among friends who were at least sympathetic to his view. Certainly no one told him he was wrong for thinking that way. So I posit more than one. How many? who knows?
 
If Republicans can bring up this guy, can I mention Richard Spencer?

I didn’t see others in the video. I think he may have felt comfortable talking this way in front of folk from Project Veritas. I wonder why?

So right there you admit to his comfort in talking this way. Why not just admit he’s comfortable talking that way because he hangs out with some other people who talk that way. That comfort doesn’t happen in a social vacuum. Even you should know that.

Project Veritas drew nothing out of him that he didn’t already think or talk about with others before the filming.

Hard to say. I wonder what the full tapes look like. i wonder what others around him say. That would not be hard for journalists to discover. Sadly none are involved in this story.
