Inherited a difficult situation? Interesting take on things.I don’t know anything about Fr. Kenneally. I do know Cardinal George and have the utmost respect for the man. He is an exceptional man and inherited a difficult situation in Chicago. Sadly, he will not live to see the fruits of his labors, it might take another one or two good Orthodox Archbishops to truly repair the damage in the Archdiocese.
The difficulty lies in their being two standards of proof…the church’s is sort of “is this more likely than not”, and the civil world is “beyond a resonable doubt”Cardinal George has done some great things for Chicago.
What troubles me is the current inclination to condemn all Priests and their Bishops as being guilty before they even have any say in the matter. We don’t even know if the Priest is actually guilty.
Father Keneally has had his wrist slapped a few times because he allows females to do homilies. I read this in a magazine several months ago. He is so cocky, he just laughs and says that the Cardinal cannot do anything about it because he is an old man. Maybe i will be able to find the articl on the internet. I think it was Chicago magazine and the front cover highlighted the Catholics of Chicago.I don’t know anything about Fr. Kenneally. I do know Cardinal George and have the utmost respect for the man. I really like Cardinal George, but he made a mistake and admits to it. We shouldn’t wait until a priest is proven guilty to get him away from the situation. In a lot of professions, individuals are removed pending an investigation.Cardinal George has done some great things for Chicago.
