When I was maybe fifteen or sixteen (I’m in my early twenties now), I remember making a promise to God while I was in Adoration that I would do whatever His will was. By “His will” I did not just mean doing what was right and avoiding what was wrong, but whatever I thought He specifically wanted me to do in regards to any circumstance. That’s really all I remember about the making of the promise and what was going through my mind at the time.
I had since forgotten about the promise for years, so I have been living with it in mind, but I’ve recently remembered it and I am rather frustrated with myself for having ever made it since it would seem I have possibly morally bound myself to a great number of things which would not ordinarily be a matter of obligation.
Am I obligated to keep this promise?
