Church Militant:
Do you always project your bias into your comments? You have implied in many of your posts that you know what Catholics believe and yet you make a statement like this that shows either a lack of understanding or a blatant intent to misrepresent the teachings of the Catholic Church.
Sorry, but I do understand the Catholic teaching of transubstantiation having been a catholic for 27 years. 😃

Just trying to square the anathemas of Trent towards protestants versus today’s seperated brethren approach? I find this somewhat deceptive considering Trent can never be overturned and is still in force. 😦

Certainly Trent never considered protestants brethren!

You still don’t understand the church definition of anathema. Seperated is precisely what it means…with a view towards ultimate reconcilliation.

BTW, the fact is that at the time, Trent carried the very same tones as the so-called “reformers” did in their rhetoric which has been handed down for the last 500 years, soo don’t hand me that bunk about Trent not calling you brother Christians when the n-C denoms pretty much are still feeding the same trash to their current crop of followers. Else guys like you wouldn’t be here trying to evangelize Catholics away from their faith.

And no, you only understand what you have been taught by some n-Cs about the Catholic Church. I am a cradle Catholic who was away from the faith for over 34 years and had I known then what I know now I’d’ve never left the church. It was because of anti-Catholic attacks that I knew were bunk that I began to dig into what the church really teaches and discovered that I had been lied to, misinformed, and decieved by those that I trusted because they said they taught the Word of God. I was severely P.O.'d when I discovered the truth and even more distressed that the errant people wouldn’t even discuss the truth with me.

If you left the faith, you didn’t really know it or you wouldn’t’ve fallen for the stuff they have fed you. How you can let yourself deny the Eucharist when the scriptures are so clear and the context so powerful is baffling. All the lame explanations of what they try to tell us those passages mean as they spiritualize them and call it all metaphorical is harder for me to understand than the miraculous truth!
The Eucharist IS Scriptural

You know deep down inside that their answers don’t add up and that you have to read around the passages like Matt 16:18 and 18:16, and John 20:21-23 because the only common sense message of those texts affirms the Catholic teachings that have existed for over 2,000 years and that are confirmed by the writings of the ECF. But so long as you refuse to pursue the truth at all costs, with a humble heart that’s completely open to the guidance of the Spirit of Truth, you will remain outside the church that Jesus founded and continue to spout the errors that you have been taught.
Pax tecum,
