Therefore, you should both expect, and accept, that the Catholic view, and not your erroneous one, is predominant here.
You are correct. My apologies.

It is the same as if you were on an Orthodox forum–your innovations and erroneous views would be exposed and you would have to expect and accept this. 😃

Good day friend. :tiphat:

To my Roman Catholic brother I will like to point out that I have read many of the Holy Father’s statements and letters and I am encouraged that the Popes have a better understanding towards the East than the Catholic laypeople. To my knowledge the Popes have a greater respect towards the Orthodox than the Orthodox have of themselves. I wish honestly that the Catholic laypeople will read their own Popes writings. I find on these forums a lack of understanding of the Orthodox and had the laypeople read their own Popes and I mean the last 3 Popes I believe this will change dramatically what laypeople say about us Orthodox! The Orthodox Church needs not to be corrected by laypeople. She knows perfectly who She is and any statements to the contrary really is an insult to the integrity of Her own foundation. How can a Church formed 2000 years ago be in error! Come on! Have you ever visited Her? Have you ever wanted to know something about Her? Have you ever read Her history, Her saints, Her teachings? Let me tell you that His Holiness John Paul II has! His statements on the Orthodox are remarkable and is the beginning of understanding of who are the Orthodox and how the Catholic laypeople are to respond to them. I am writing a book on such topics that will explain the many misunderstandings and misconceptions the Catholic Church has regarding the Orthodox. The Popes have the highest regard towards the Orthodox but the problem is with the Catholic laypeople. You make too many judgements without consulting your own Popes! Read your Popes and hopefully you will have a clearer understanding of us. Attend our Divine Liturgy and see for yourself our greatest gift. How can one be not moved or touched when celebrating The Divine Liturgy! Our greatest heritage is our own Liturgies which can move a person to a more contemplative experience of God. That is how the Orthodox understand God. Not through reading alot of books ( like they do in the West ) but through their experience of God attending the Liturgy. The Liturgy has so much to offer that afterwards even our own laypeople can write theology similar to Catholic saints of the West. Your mystical experience of God in the East can make anyone an interesting author. We write through our experience, we write from our hearts. That is how it is done in the East. God Bless!
