Moscow’s Presnensky district court on Monday postponed hearings on astrologist Marina Bai’s lawsuit against the U.S. National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA).
Bai demanded that NASA pay about nine billion roubles (about 316 million U.S. dollars) as compensation for moral damage caused by the collision of unmanned probe with the comet Tempel-1.
The court postponed the hearings till July 28. Bai’s lawyer, Alexander Molokhov, said, “The hearings were postponed because a representative of the respondent, NASA, did not show up.”
“I and my client will increase the size of the compensation depending on the consequences to follow the bombardment of the comet,” he said.
“My client believes that the NASA action encroaches upon the system of her spiritual and life values as well as the natural life of outer space and violates the natural balance of force in the Universe,” Molokhov said.
