How can he claim the bible infallible when anyone can translate the work the way they want? Doesn’t he realize there are 30,000 different religions in the world??

I think you mean denominations.

I don’t think there are 30k different translations of the bible.

Not to mention that the bible can be neither fallible or infallible.

Yes, I meant denominations. What do you mean that the bible can neither be infallible or fallible?

The terms fallible and infallible are meant for use when describing something that can take actions or make decisions. I can be fallible, the Pope can be infallable a rock or a bible cannot.

It would be more accurate to say that is inerrant.
107 The inspired books teach the truth. "Since therefore all that the inspired authors or sacred writers affirm should be regarded as affirmed by the Holy Spirit, we must acknowledge that the books of Scripture firmly, faithfully, and** without error **teach that truth which God, for the sake of our salvation, wished to see confided to the Sacred Scriptures."72
The Pope and the Magesterium can be infallible the bible is inerrant.

Ok. Inerrant means without error?? Forgive me for my ignorance. Now, where would the different interpretations of the bible fall?

yes, inerrant = without error

The Bible is an inerrant book interpreted by fallible readers, but some parts of scripture can have multiple interpretations that don’t contradict, while with others the meaning may not be clear, nevertheless the Bible can be very confusing and it is best understood within the context of the Church and not trying to go solo with it; we should all read the Bible, but understand its proper context which is within the Church because it was people within the Church that wrote these scriptures by inspiration of the Holy Spirit.

Protestant Evangelicals generally believe that the Original Texts (TM and (C) The Apostles and Evangelists of JC, Inc., and TM and (C) the Nation of Israel, Ministries of History, Prophesy, and Literature) are infallible. Later copies of the original language texts as well as translations are fallible, which is why Protestants love textual criticism and original language study aids such as Strong’s Exhaustive Concordance.

Good Little Protestants, if they are concerned about a passage they read in the NIV, compare it to the KJV, NASB, NRSV, etc., and use a tool like Strong’s or the electronic equivalent to look up the Greek, Hebrew, or Aramaic behind it and look at word definitions. If they are still concerned, they call their pastor who, hopefully, should know enough Greek and Hebrew to help them or direct them to a good source.

Some Protestants believe that the KJV is inspired and infallible. It’s not so strange - don’t Catholics believe that the Vulgate is infallible as it relates to faith and morals?

The Bible is inerrant. Translations and interpretations are fallible.

King James version of the Bible
James gave the translators instructions intended to guarantee that the new version would conform to the ecclesiology and reflect the episcopal structure of the Church of England and its beliefs about an ordained clergy.[9] The translation was by 47 scholars, all of whom were members of the Church of England.

Yes. The originals are inerrant, the authors infallible in their writing of them, I think.
Yes. The inspired word of God is inerrant, without error. The authors, authoritative men of the Church, were infallible in their writings. Translations and interpretations are subject to err. That’s why we have so many denominations, each based on someone’s private interpretation.

While an argument can be made against 30k denominations, it’s still wrong for if there were only 30 denominations, in my opinion. Scriptures teach us to be of the same mind and judgment, and one in the body of Christ, which is His Church, not Churches.

Yup, it’s pretty clear in the bible that Jesus iintended us to be catholic (small c).

Private interpretation was not taught in scriptures themselves. Read Nehemiah 8 and see how the people were ‘caused to understand’. Also notice some similarities between then and the Mass.
Neh 8:5 And Esdras opened the book before all the people: for he was above all the people: and when he had opened it, all the people stood.
Neh 8:6 And Esdras blessed the Lord the great God: and all the people answered, Amen, amen: lifting up their hands: and they bowed down, and adored God with their faces to the ground.

Didn’t the Pharisees believe they were the only ones to understand the scriptures and traditions of their time?
For God so loved the world, as to give his only begotten Son; that whosoever believeth in him, may not perish, but may have life everlasting.
Praise God for His Grace and the lifting of the yoke of man!

Was Christ a Pharisees?

Matt23: 1 Then said Jesus to the crowds and to his disciples, 2 "The scribes and the Pharisees sit on Moses’ seat; 3 so practice and observe whatever they tell you, but not what they do; for they preach, but do not practice.

What is being said here?

The 30,000 is funny because it is a lie.

It is almost certainly a lie. However, I wouldn’t doubt if there are not 10,000 if you count all of the little independant churches.

There are about 280 large governing bodies of the various protestant churches and scores of independant non-denominational churches.

The 30,000 is funny because it is a lie.
What’s not funny is that even 30 is unacceptable according to the scriptures that tell us to be of the same mind and judgement. Yes, there are claims of 30,000, but look at the variations of say Baptists alone. It’s easy to see there are hundreds and possibly thousands of denominations, all with slight to great differences in doctrines, and all based on someone’s private interpretation. And that’s no lie.
