In an earlier post, I said I would post some documentation on how abortifacients such as the pill and IUD work.

Here is information on the pill. I selected this from among many possible sites because it is provided by the U of Illinois and is not unaffiliated with or influenced by any pro-life organization.

HOW DOES THE PILL WORK?

  • It prevents ovulation
  • It alters the cervical mucus, making it less penetrable to sperm
  • It alters the endometrial lining, inhibiting implantation of a fertilized egg, if ovulation has occurred.
(color added)

It is the third way in which the pill works that makes it an abortifacient. A complete, living human being, which needs only a place to rest, nourishment, and time in order to develop its full, already-existing potential, is refused a place of lodging (there is no room for him in the inn), which results in his or her certain death.

When does human life begin? Does it begin with the zygote or when the zygote finds a home?

Here, in this website, the beginning of life is defined as the moment of conception:

Here, life is defined as the moment of ***implantation (“pregnancy” is redefined as implantation. Before implantation, these abortion defenders say, there is no pregnancy. ***

***I aks, just what is it then, that’s being expelled from the womb by these “contraceptive” measures? If it isn’t a human being, what kind of being is it? Animal, vegetable, or mineral? ***
